  1. நமக்கு ஒரு பாலகன் பிறந்தார்; நமக்கு ஒரு குமாரன் கொடுக்கப்பட்டார்; கர்த்தத்துவம் அவர் தோளின்மேலிருக்கும்; அவர் நாமம் அதிசயமானவர், ஆலோசனைக்கர்த்தா, வல்லமையுள்ள தேவன், நித்திய பிதா, சமாதானப்பிரபு என்னப்படும்.

    For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
