ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರು--ಮಂದೆಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಒಟ್ಟುಗೂಡಿಸಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಾವಿಯ ಮೇಲಿರುವ ಕಲ್ಲನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಆಗ ನಾವು ಕುರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ನೀರನ್ನು ಕುಡಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ ಅಂದರು.
Adakke avaru--mandegalannellaa ottugoodisida mele baaviya meliruva kallannu muchchuttaare; aaga naavu kurigalige neerannu kudisutteve andaru.

- 9ಯಾಕೋಬನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಅವರ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡು ತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ ಕುರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮೇಯಿಸುವವಳಾಗಿದ್ದ ರಾಹೇ ಲಳು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಕುರಿಗಳ ಸಂಗಡ ಬಂದಳು.
- 10ಯಾಕೋಬನು ತನ್ನ ತಾಯಿಯ ಸಹೋದರನಾದ ಲಾಬಾನನ ಮಗಳಾದ ರಾಹೇಲಳನ್ನೂ ಅವನ ಕುರಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ನೋಡಿದಾಗ ಯಾಕೋಬನು ಹತ್ತಿರ ಬಂದು ಬಾವಿಯ ಮೇಲಿದ್ದ ಕಲ್ಲನ್ನು ಹೊರಳಿಸಿ ತನ್ನ ತಾಯಿಯ ಸಹೋದರನಾದ ಲಾಬಾನನ ಕುರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ನೀರನ್ನು ಕುಡಿಸಿದನು.
