ತನ್ನ ನಿರ್ದೋಷತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುವ ಬಡವನು ತನ್ನ ತುಟಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಕ್ರತೆಯುಳ್ಳ ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನನಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಉತ್ತಮ.
Better [is] the poor that walketh in his integrity, than [he that is] perverse in his lips, and is a fool.
ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆಯಿಲ್ಲದ ಪ್ರಾಣವು ಯುಕ್ತವಲ್ಲ; ತನ್ನ ಪಾದಗಳಿಂದ ದುಡುಕುವ ವನು ಪಾಪಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.
Also, [that] the soul [be] without knowledge, [it is] not good; and he that hasteth with [his] feet sinneth.
ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನತೆ ತನ್ನ ದಾರಿಯನ್ನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸುತ್ತದೆ; ಅವನ ಹೃದಯವು ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಉರಿಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತದೆ.
The foolishness of man perverteth his way: and his heart fretteth against the LORD.
ಐಶ್ವ ರ್ಯವು ಅನೇಕ ಮಂದಿ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳು ತ್ತದೆ; ಬಡವನು ತನ್ನ ನೆರೆಯವನಿಂದ ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕಿಸಲ್ಪ ಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.
Wealth maketh many friends; but the poor is separated from his neighbour.
ಸುಳ್ಳುಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯು ಶಿಕ್ಷಿಸಲ್ಪಡದೆ ಇರುವದಿಲ್ಲ; ಸುಳ್ಳಾಡುವವನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ಇರನು.
A false witness shall not be unpunished, and [he that] speaketh lies shall not escape.
ಅಧಿಪ ತಿಯ ದಯೆಗಾಗಿ ಅನೇಕರು ಬಿನ್ನವಿಸುವರು; ದಾನಗ ಳನ್ನು ಕೊಡುವವನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನೂ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತನೇ.
Many will intreat the favour of the prince: and every man [is] a friend to him that giveth gifts.
ಬಡವನ ಸಹೋದರರೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅವನನ್ನು ಹಗೆಮಾಡು ತ್ತಾರೆ. ತನ್ನ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರು ತನ್ನಿಂದ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ದೂರ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾರಲ್ಲವೇ? ಮಾತುಗಳಿಂದ ಅವನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿದರೂ ಅವು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಸಾಲುವದಿಲ್ಲ.
All the brethren of the poor do hate him: how much more do his friends go far from him? he pursueth [them with] words, [yet] they [are] wanting [to him].
ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಸಂಪಾದಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನು ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣ ವನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ; ವಿವೇಕವನ್ನು ಕೈಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನು ಒಳ್ಳೇದನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು.
He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good.
ಸುಳ್ಳು ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯು ಶಿಕ್ಷಿಸಲ್ಪಡದೆ ಇರುವದಿಲ್ಲ; ಸುಳ್ಳಾಡುವವನು ನಾಶವಾ ಗುವನು.
A false witness shall not be unpunished, and [he that] speaketh lies shall perish.
ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನನಿಗೆ ಆನಂದವು ಯುಕ್ತವಲ್ಲ; ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ದೊರೆತನ ಮಾಡುವದು ಸೇವಕ ನಿಗೆ ಯುಕ್ತವೇ ಅಲ್ಲ.
Delight is not seemly for a fool; much less for a servant to have rule over princes.
ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ವಿವೇಕವು ಅವನ ಕೋಪವನ್ನು ಅಡ್ಡಿಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ. ದೋಷವನ್ನು ಲಕ್ಷಿ ಸದೆ ಇರುವದು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಘನತೆಯಾಗಿದೆ.
The discretion of a man deferreth his anger; and [it is] his glory to pass over a transgression.
ಅರಸನ ಕೋಪವು ಸಿಂಹದ ಘರ್ಜನೆಯಂತಿದೆ; ಅವನ ದಯೆಯು ಹುಲ್ಲಿನ ಮೇಲಿರುವ ಇಬ್ಬನಿಯಂತಿದೆ.
The king’s wrath [is] as the roaring of a lion; but his favour [is] as dew upon the grass.
ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನನಾದ ಮಗನು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಗೆ ಹಾನಿಕ ರನು; ಹೆಂಡತಿಯ ಕಲಹಗಳು ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ತೊಟ್ಟಿ ಕ್ಕುವ ಹನಿಗಳು.
A foolish son [is] the calamity of his father: and the contentions of a wife [are] a continual dropping.
ಮನೆಯೂ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವೂ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ಸ್ವಾಸ್ಥ್ಯವು; ವಿವೇಕಿಯಾದ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯು ಕರ್ತ ನಿಂದಲೇ.
House and riches [are] the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife [is] from the LORD.
ಮೈಗಳ್ಳತನವು ಗಾಢ ನಿದ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಳು ಗಿಸುತ್ತದೆ; ಸೋಮಾರಿಯ ಪ್ರಾಣವು ಹಸಿವೆಗೊಳ್ಳು ವದು.
Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger.
ಆಜ್ಞೆಯನ್ನು ಪಾಲಿಸುವವನು ತನ್ನ ಆತ್ಮವನ್ನು ಪಾಲಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ; ತನ್ನ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳನ್ನು ಅಸಡ್ಡೆಮಾಡು ವವನು ಸಾಯುವನು.
He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; [but] he that despiseth his ways shall die.
ಬಡವರಿಗೆ ದಯೆತೋರಿಸು ವವನು. ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಸಾಲ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಅವನು ಕೊಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ಆತನು ತಿರುಗಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.
He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.
ಇನ್ನೂ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆ ಇರುವಾಗಲೇ ನಿನ್ನ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಶಿಕ್ಷಿಸು; ಅವನ ಅಳುವಿಕೆಗೆ ನೀನು ಕನಿಕರಿಸದೆ ಇರು.
Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying.
ಮಹಾಕೋಪಿಷ್ಠನು ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸುವನು; ಅವನನ್ನು ನೀನು ಬಿಡಿಸಿದರೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ನೀನು ಅದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
A man of great wrath shall suffer punishment: for if thou deliver [him], yet thou must do it again.
ಆಲೋಚನೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣವನ್ನು ಅಂಗೀಕರಿಸು. ಕಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೀನು ಜ್ಞಾನಿ ಯಾಗುವಿ.
Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.
ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅನೇಕ ಕಲ್ಪನೆಗಳಿವೆ; ಆದರೂ ಕರ್ತನ ಸಂಕಲ್ಪವೇ ಈಡೇರು ವದು.
[There are] many devices in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.
ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಆಕಾಂಕ್ಷೆಯು ಆತನ ದಯೆಯೇ; ಬಡವನು ಸುಳ್ಳುಗಾರನಿಗಿಂತ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯವನು.
The desire of a man [is] his kindness: and a poor man [is] better than a liar.
ಕರ್ತನ ಭಯವು ಜೀವಕ್ಕೆ ಒಲಿಯುತ್ತದೆ; ಅದನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ ವನು ತೃಪ್ತನಾಗಿ ನೆಲೆಗೊಳ್ಳುವನು; ಅವನಿಗೆ ಕೇಡು ಸಂಭವಿಸುವದಿಲ್ಲ.
The fear of the LORD [tendeth] to life: and [he that hath it] shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.
ಸೋಮಾರಿಯು ತನ್ನ ಕೈಯನ್ನು ಎದೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಚ್ಚಿಟ್ಟು ತನ್ನ ಬಾಯಿಗೆ ಸಹ ಅದನ್ನು ಎತ್ತುವದಿಲ್ಲ.
A slothful [man] hideth his hand in [his] bosom, and will not so much as bring it to his mouth again.
ಪರಿಹಾಸ್ಯಗಾರರನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದರೆ ಮೂಢರು ಎಚ್ಚರಗೊಳ್ಳುವರು; ವಿವೇಕಿಯನ್ನು ಗದರಿಸಿ ದರೆ ಅವನು ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಗ್ರಹಿಸುವನು.
Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that hath understanding, [and] he will understand knowledge.
ತಂದೆಯನ್ನು ನಷ್ಟಪಡಿಸಿ ತಾಯಿಯನ್ನು ಓಡಿಸುವವನು ನಾಚಿಕೆಯನ್ನುಂಟು ಮಾಡಿ ನಿಂದೆಯನ್ನು ತರುತ್ತಾನೆ.
He that wasteth [his] father, [and] chaseth away [his] mother, [is] a son that causeth shame, and bringeth reproach.
ನನ್ನ ಮಗನೇ, ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆಯ ಮಾತುಗಳಿಂದ ದಾರಿ ತಪ್ಪಿಸುವ ಬೋಧನೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳದಿರು.
Cease, my son, to hear the instruction [that causeth] to err from the words of knowledge.
ಭಕ್ತಿಹೀ ನನ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯು ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರ್ಪನ್ನು ಗೇಲಿಮಾಡುತ್ತವೆ. ದುಷ್ಟನ ಬಾಯಿಯು ದ್ರೋಹವನ್ನು ನುಂಗುವದು.ಪರಿಹಾಸ್ಯಗಾರರಿಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರ್ಪುಗಳೂ ಬುದ್ಧಿ ಹೀನರ ಬೆನ್ನಿಗೆ ಪೆಟ್ಟುಗಳೂ ಸಿದ್ಧವಾಗಿವೆ.
An ungodly witness scorneth judgment: and the mouth of the wicked devoureth iniquity.
ಪರಿಹಾಸ್ಯಗಾರರಿಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರ್ಪುಗಳೂ ಬುದ್ಧಿ ಹೀನರ ಬೆನ್ನಿಗೆ ಪೆಟ್ಟುಗಳೂ ಸಿದ್ಧವಾಗಿವೆ.
Judgments are prepared for scorners, and stripes for the back of fools.
