ಕೆಟ್ಟವರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ನೀನು ಅಸೂಯೆಪಡದಿರು; ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಅವರ ಸಂಗಡ ಇರುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸಬೇಡ;
Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them.
ಅವರ ಹೃದಯವು ನಾಶನವನ್ನು ಅಭ್ಯಾಸಿಸುತ್ತದೆ; ಅವರ ತುಟಿಗಳು ಹಾನಿ ಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾಪಿಸುತ್ತವೆ.
For their heart studieth destruction, and their lips talk of mischief.
ಜ್ಞಾನದಿಂದ ಮನೆಯು ಕಟ್ಟಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತದೆ; ವಿವೇಕದಿಂದ ಅದು ಸ್ಥಿರಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತದೆ;
Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established:
ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆಯಿಂದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಅಮೂಲ್ಯವಾದ ಮತ್ತು ಇಷ್ಟ ಸಂಪತ್ತಿನಿಂದ ಕೋಣೆಗಳು ತುಂಬಲ್ಪಡುವವು.
And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.
ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯು ಬಲವುಳ್ಳವನು; ಹೌದು, ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆಯು ಳ್ಳವನು ಬಲವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾನೆ.
A wise man [is] strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.
ಜ್ಞಾನಯುಕ್ತ ವಾದ ಆಲೋಚನೆಯಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನ ಯುದ್ಧವನ್ನು ನಡಿ ಸುತ್ತೀ; ಬಹುಮಂದಿ ಸಲಹೆಗಾರರು ಇರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಸುರ ಕ್ಷಣೆ ಇರುತ್ತದೆ.
For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors [there is] safety.
ಜ್ಞಾನವು ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನನಿಗೆ ನಿಲುಕದ್ದಾ ಗಿದೆ. ದ್ವಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಬಾಯಿಯನ್ನು ತೆರೆಯು ವದಿಲ್ಲ.
Wisdom [is] too high for a fool: he openeth not his mouth in the gate.
ಕೇಡನ್ನು ಕಲ್ಪಿಸುವವನು ಕುಚೋದ್ಯಗಾರ ನೆಂದು ಕರೆಯಲ್ಪಡುವನು.
He that deviseth to do evil shall be called a mischievous person.
ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನನ ಆಲೋ ಚನೆಯು ಪಾಪ; ಪರಿಹಾಸ್ಯಗಾರನು ಮನುಷ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಅಸಹ್ಯ.
The thought of foolishness [is] sin: and the scorner [is] an abomination to men.
ಇಕ್ಕಟ್ಟಿನ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀನು ಬಳಲಿಹೋದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಬಲವು ಕೊಂಚವಾಗಿದೆ.
[If] thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength [is] small.
ಮರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಸೆಳೆಯ ಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವನನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೂ ವಧಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಿದ್ಧವಾದವರನ್ನು ನೀನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಲೂ ಹಿಂದೆಗೆದರೆ
If thou forbear to deliver [them that are] drawn unto death, and [those that are] ready to be slain;
ನೀನು--ಇಗೋ, ಅದು ನನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರೆ ಹೃದಯವನ್ನು ಪರಿಶೋಧಿಸುವಾತನು ಅದನ್ನು ಯೋಚಿಸುವದಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ನಿನ್ನ ಆತ್ಮವನ್ನು ಕಾಯುವಾತನು ಅದನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಯುವದಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ಪ್ರತಿ ಯೊಬ್ಬನಿಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳಿಗನುಸಾರವಾಗಿ ಆತನು ಪ್ರತಿಫಲವನ್ನು ಕೊಡದೆ ಇರುವನೇ?
If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider [it]? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth [not] he know [it]? and shall [not] he render to [every] man according to his works?
ನನ್ನ ಮಗನೇ, ಜೇನು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿರುವದರಿಂದಲೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಬಾಯಿಗೆ ಜೇನು ತುಪ್ಪವು ಸಿಹಿಯಾಗಿರುವದರಿಂದಲೂ ಅದನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನು;
My son, eat thou honey, because [it is] good; and the honeycomb, [which is] sweet to thy taste:
ಹೀಗೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಜ್ಞಾನದ ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆಯು ಇರುವದು; ಅದು ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದಾಗ ಬಹುಮಾನವಿರುವದು; ನಿನ್ನ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯು ನಿರರ್ಥಕವಾಗುವದಿಲ್ಲ.
So [shall] the knowledge of wisdom [be] unto thy soul: when thou hast found [it], then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.
ದುಷ್ಟನೇ, ನೀತಿವಂತನ ನಿವಾಸಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊಂಚುಹಾಕಬೇಡ; ಅವನ ವಿಶ್ರಾಂತಿಯ ಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನು ಸೂರೆಮಾಡಬೇಡ;
Lay not wait, O wicked [man], against the dwelling of the righteous; spoil not his resting place:
ನೀತಿ ವಂತನು ಏಳು ಸಾರಿ ಬಿದ್ದರೂ ಮತ್ತೆ ಏಳುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಆದರೆ ದುಷ್ಟನು ಕೇಡಿಗೆ ಬೀಳುವನು.
For a just [man] falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.
ನಿನ್ನ ಶತ್ರು ಬಿದ್ದರೆ ಸಂತೋಷಿಸಬೇಡ; ಅವನು ಎಡವಿದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಹೃದಯವು ಹರ್ಷಿಸದಿರಲಿ;
Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:
ಕರ್ತನು ಅದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದಾಗ ಅದು ಆತನಿಗೆ ಇಷ್ಟವಿಲ್ಲದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆತನು ಅವನ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ತನ್ನ ಕೋಪವನ್ನು ತಿರುಗಿಸಾನು.
Lest the LORD see [it], and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.
ಕೆಟ್ಟವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಉರಿಗೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡ; ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ದುಷ್ಟ ರಿಗಾಗಿ ಅಸೂಯೆಪಡಬೇಡ;
Fret not thyself because of evil [men], neither be thou envious at the wicked;
ಕೆಡುಕನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿ ಫಲವು ಇರುವದಿಲ್ಲ; ದುಷ್ಟರ ದೀಪವು ಆರಿಹೋಗು ವದು.
For there shall be no reward to the evil [man;] the candle of the wicked shall be put out.
ನನ್ನ ಮಗನೇ, ಕರ್ತನಿಗೂ ಅರಸನಿಗೂ ಭಯಪಡು; ಭಯಪಡದವರ ಗೊಡವೆಗೆ ಹೋಗ ಬೇಡ.
My son, fear thou the LORD and the king: [and] meddle not with them that are given to change:
ಅವರ ವಿಪತ್ತು ಫಕ್ಕನೆ ಸಂಭವಿಸುವದು; ಅವರಿಬ್ಬರ ನಾಶನವು ಯಾರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿದೀತು?
For their calamity shall rise suddenly; and who knoweth the ruin of them both?
ಇವು ಸಹ ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಪಟ್ಟಿವೆ. ನ್ಯಾಯವಿಚಾರಣೆ ಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪಕ್ಷಪಾತವು ಸರಿಯಲ್ಲ.
These [things] also [belong] to the wise. [It is] not good to have respect of persons in judgment.
ದುಷ್ಟನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ನೀತಿವಂತನು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವವನನ್ನು ಜನರು ಶಪಿಸು ವರು, ಜನಾಂಗಗಳು ಅವನನ್ನು ಹೇಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವರು.
He that saith unto the wicked, Thou [art] righteous; him shall the people curse, nations shall abhor him:
ಗದರಿಸುವವರಿಗೆ ಆನಂದವಾಗುವದು; ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಶುಭದಾಯಕ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದವು ಬರುವದು.
But to them that rebuke [him] shall be delight, and a good blessing shall come upon them.
ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಉತ್ತರಿಸುವವನ ತುಟಿಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿ ಯೊಬ್ಬನು ಮುದ್ದಿಡುವನು.
[Every man] shall kiss [his] lips that giveth a right answer.
ಹೊರಗೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಕೆಲಸ ವನ್ನು ಸಿದ್ಧಪಡಿಸಿಕೊ; ಅದು ಹೊಲದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಸರಿಯಾಗುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊ; ತರುವಾಯ ನಿನ್ನ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೋ.
Prepare thy work without, and make it fit for thyself in the field; and afterwards build thine house.
ಕಾರಣವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ನೆರೆಯವನಿಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಹೇಳಬೇಡ; ನಿನ್ನ ತುಟಿಗಳಿಂದ ಮೋಸಮಾಡಬೇಡ.
Be not a witness against thy neighbour without cause; and deceive [not] with thy lips.
ನನಗೆ ಅವನು ಮಾಡಿದಂತೆ ನಾನೂ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಮಾಡುವೆನು; ಅವನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಮುಯ್ಯಿ ತೀರಿಸುವೆನು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಬೇಡ.
Say not, I will do so to him as he hath done to me: I will render to the man according to his work.
ಸೋಮಾರಿಯ ಹೊಲದ ಪಕ್ಕದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಬುದ್ಧಿ ಹೀನನ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷೇ ತೋಟದ ಕಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನಾನು ಹಾದು ಹೋದೆನು;
I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;
ಆಗ ಇಗೋ, ಹೊಲವೆಲ್ಲವೂ ಮುಳ್ಳು ಗಿಡಗಳಿಂದ ಬೆಳೆದು ಕಳೆಗಳು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿ ಅದರ ಕಲ್ಲಿನ ಗೋಡೆಯು ಬಿದ್ದುಹೋಯಿತು.
And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, [and] nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down.
ಆಗ ನಾನು ನೋಡಿ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಟ್ಟೆನು; ದೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಿತನಾದೆನು.
Then I saw, [and] considered [it] well: I looked upon [it, and] received instruction.
ಇನ್ನು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ನಿದ್ರೆ, ಇನ್ನು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ತೂಕಡಿಕೆ, ನಿದ್ರೆಗಾಗಿ ಇನ್ನು ಕೊಂಚ ಕೈ ಮುದುರಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳುವದು;ಹೀಗೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಬಡತನವು ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕನ ಹಾಗೆಯೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಕೊರತೆಯು ಆಯುಧದಾರ ನಂತೆಯೂ ಬರುವವು.
[Yet] a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:
ಹೀಗೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಬಡತನವು ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕನ ಹಾಗೆಯೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಕೊರತೆಯು ಆಯುಧದಾರ ನಂತೆಯೂ ಬರುವವು.
So shall thy poverty come [as] one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.
