అంతట గిలాదు కాపురస్థుల సంబంధియును తిష్బీ యుడునైన ఏలీయా అహాబునొద్దకు వచ్చిఎవని సన్నిధిని నేను నిలువబడియున్నానో, ఇశ్రాయేలు దేవుడైన ఆ యెహోవాజీవముతోడు నా మాట ప్రకారము గాక, యీ సంవత్సరములలో మంచైనను వర్షమైనను పడదని ప్రకటిం చెను.
And Elijah the Tishbite, [who was] of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, [As] the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.
పిమ్మట యెహోవా వాక్కు అతనికి ప్రత్యక్షమై
And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,
నీవు ఇచ్చటనుండి తూర్పువైపునకు పోయి యొర్దానునకు ఎదురుగానున్న కెరీతు వాగుదగ్గర దాగియుండుము;
Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that [is] before Jordan.
ఆ వాగు నీరు నీవు త్రాగుదువు, అచ్చటికి నీకు ఆహారము తెచ్చునట్లు నేను కాకోలములకు ఆజ్ఞాపించితినని అతనికి తెలియజేయగా
And it shall be, [that] thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.
అతడు పోయి యెహోవా సెలవు చొప్పున యొర్దానునకు ఎదురుగానున్న కెరీతు వాగు దగ్గర నివాసము చేసెను.
So he went and did according unto the word of the LORD: for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that [is] before Jordan.
అక్కడ కాకోలములు ఉదయ మందు రొట్టెను మాంసమును అస్తమయమందు రొట్టెను మాంసమును అతనియొద్దకు తీసికొనివచ్చుచుండెను; అతడు వాగు నీరు త్రాగుచు వచ్చెను.
And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook.
కొంతకాలమైనతరువాత దేశములో వర్షము లేక ఆ నీరు ఎండిపోయెను.
And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land.
అంతట యెహోవా వాక్కు అతనికి ప్రత్యక్షమై యీలాగు సెలవిచ్చెనునీవు సీదోను పట్టణ సంబంధ మైన సారెపతు అను ఊరికి పోయి అచ్చట ఉండుము;
And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,
నిన్ను పోషించుటకు అచ్చటనున్న యొక విధవరాలికి నేను సెల విచ్చితిని.
Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which [belongeth] to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.
అందుకతడు లేచి సారెపతునకు పోయి పట్టణపు గవినియొద్దకు రాగా, ఒక విధవరాలు అచ్చట కట్టెలు ఏరుచుండుట చూచి ఆమెను పిలిచి త్రాగుటకై పాత్రతో కొంచెము నీళ్లు నాకు తీసికొనిరమ్మని వేడుకొనెను.
So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman [was] there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.
ఆమె నీళ్లు తేబోవుచుండగా అతడామెను మరల పిలిచినాకొక రొట్టెముక్కను నీ చేతిలో తీసికొని రమ్మని చెప్పెను.
And as she was going to fetch [it], he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand.
అందుకామెనీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా జీవముతోడు తొట్టిలో పట్టెడు పిండియు బుడ్డిలో కొంచెము నూనెయు నాయొద్దనున్నవే గాని అప్పమొకటైన లేదు, మేము చావకముందు నేను ఇంటికి పోయి వాటిని నాకును నా బిడ్డకును సిద్ధము చేసికొనవలెనని కొన్ని పుల్లలు ఏరుటకై వచ్చితిననెను.
And she said, [As] the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I [am] gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.
అప్పుడు ఏలీయా ఆమెతో ఇట్లనెనుభయపడవద్దు, పోయి నీవు చెప్పినట్లు చేయుము; అయితే అందులో నాకొక చిన్న అప్పము మొదటచేసి నాయొద్దకు తీసికొనిరమ్ము, తరువాత నీకును నీ బిడ్డకును అప్పములు చేసికొనుము.
And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go [and] do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring [it] unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.
భూమిమీద యెహోవా వర్షము కురిపించువరకు ఆ తొట్టిలో ఉన్న పిండి తక్కువకాదు, బుడ్డిలో నూనె అయిపోదని
For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day [that] the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth.
ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవుడైన యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చియున్నాడు అనెను. అంతట ఆమె వెళ్లి ఏలీయా చెప్పిన మాటచొప్పున చేయగా అతడును ఆమెయు ఆమె యింటి వారును అనేకదినములు భోజనముచేయుచు వచ్చిరి.
And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat [many] days.
యెహోవా ఏలీయా ద్వారా సెలవిచ్చిన ప్రకారము తొట్టిలో ఉన్న పిండి తక్కువ కాలేదు, బుడ్డిలో ఉన్న నూనె అయిపోలేదు.
[And] the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Elijah.
అటుతరువాత ఆ యింటి యజ మానురాలైన ఆమె కుమారుడు రోగియై ప్రాణము నిలువ జాలనంత వ్యాధిగలవాడాయెను.
And it came to pass after these things, [that] the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, fell sick; and his sickness was so sore, that there was no breath left in him.
ఆమె ఏలీయాతోదైవజనుడా, నాయొద్దకు నీవు రానిమిత్తమేమి? నా పాపమును నాకు జ్ఞాపకముచేసి నా కుమారుని చంపుటకై నా యొద్దకు వచ్చితివా అని మనవి చేయగా
And she said unto Elijah, What have I to do with thee, O thou man of God? art thou come unto me to call my sin to remembrance, and to slay my son?
అతడునీ బిడ్డను నా చేతికిమ్మని చెప్పి, ఆమె కౌగిటిలోనుండి వానిని తీసికొని తానున్న పై అంతస్తు గదిలోనికి పోయి తన మంచముమీద వాని పరుండబెట్టి
And he said unto her, Give me thy son. And he took him out of her bosom, and carried him up into a loft, where he abode, and laid him upon his own bed.
యెహోవా నా దేవా, నన్ను చేర్చుకొనిన యీ విధవరాలి కుమారుని చంపునంతగా ఆమెమీదికి కీడు రాజేసితివా అని యెహో వాకు మొఱ్ఱపెట్టి
And he cried unto the LORD, and said, O LORD my God, hast thou also brought evil upon the widow with whom I sojourn, by slaying her son?
ఆ చిన్న వానిమీద ముమ్మారు తాను పారచాచుకొనియెహోవా నా దేవా, నా మొఱ్ఱ ఆలకించి యీ చిన్న వానికి ప్రాణము మరల రానిమ్మని యెహోవాకు ప్రార్థింపగా
And he stretched himself upon the child three times, and cried unto the LORD, and said, O LORD my God, I pray thee, let this child’s soul come into him again.
యెహోవా ఏలీయా చేసిన ప్రార్థన ఆలకించి ఆ చిన్నవానికి ప్రాణము మరల రానిచ్చినప్పుడు వాడు బ్రదికెను.
And the LORD heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived.
ఏలీయా ఆ చిన్నవాని తీసికొని గదిలోనుండి దిగి యింట ప్రవేశించి వాని తల్లికి అప్పగించి - ఇదిగో నీ కుమారుడు; వాడు బ్రదుకుచున్నాడని చెప్పగా
And Elijah took the child, and brought him down out of the chamber into the house, and delivered him unto his mother: and Elijah said, See, thy son liveth.
ఆ స్త్రీ ఏలీయాతోనీవు దైవజనుడవై యున్నావనియు నీవు పలుకుచున్న యెహోవామాట నిజమనియు ఇందుచేత నేనెరుగుదు ననెను.
And the woman said to Elijah, Now by this I know that thou [art] a man of God, [and] that the word of the LORD in thy mouth [is] truth.
