అతడు యూదావారికి ఈలాగు ప్రకటనచేసెనుమన దేవుడైన యెహోవాను మనము ఆశ్రయించితివిు, ఆశ్ర యించినందున ఆయన మన చుట్టును నెమ్మది కలుగజేసి యున్నాడు; దేశమందు మనము నిరభ్యంతరముగా తిరుగ వచ్చును, మనము ఈ పట్టణములను కట్టించి, వాటికి ప్రాకారములను గోపురములను గుమ్మములను ద్వారబంధ ములను అమర్చుదము. కాగావారు పట్టణములను కట్టి వృద్ధినొందిరి.

Atadu yoodaavaariki eelaagu prakatanachesenumana devudaina yehovaanu manamu aashrayinchitiviు, aashra yinchinanduna aayana mana chuttunu nemmadi kalugajesi yunnaadu; deshamandu manamu nirabhyantaramugaa tiruga vachchunu, manamu ee pattanamulanu kattinchi, vaatiki praakaaramulanu gopuramulanu gummamulanu dvaarabandha mulanu amarchudamu. King James Version (KJV): Therefore he said unto Judah, Let us build these cities, and make about [them] walls, and towers, gates, and bars, [while] the land [is] yet before us; because we have sought the LORD our God, we have sought [him], and he hath given us rest on every side. So they built and prospered.
World English Bible (WEB): For he said to Judah, “Let’s build these cities and make walls around them, with towers, gates, and bars. The land is yet before us, because we have sought the LORD our God. We have sought him, and he has given us rest on every side.” So they built and prospered.

8ఆ కాలమున డాళ్లను ఈటెలను పట్టుకొను మూడు లక్షలమంది యూదావారును, కేడెములు ధరించివిల్లువేయు రెండు లక్షల ఎనుబది వేలమంది బెన్యామీనీ యులును కూడిన సైన్యము ఆసాకు ఉండెను; వీరందరును పరాక్రమశాలులై యుండిరి.
9కూషీయుడైన జెరహు వారిమీద దండెత్తి వేయి వేల సైన్యమును మూడువందల రథములను కూర్చుకొని బయలుదేరి మారేషావరకు రాగా ఆసా అతనికి ఎదురుబోయెను.
