మారుమనస్సు పొందుటకై నేను పాపులను పిలువవచ్చితిని గాని నీతిమంతులను పిలువరాలేదని వారితో చెప్పెను.

30పరిసయ్యులును వారి శాస్త్రులును ఇది చూచి సుంకరులతోను పాపులతోను మీరేల తిని త్రాగుచున్నారని ఆయన శిష్యులమీద సణిగిరి.
31అందుకు యేసురోగులకే గాని ఆరోగ్యముగల వారికి వైద్యుడక్కరలేదు.

33వారాయనను చూచి యోహాను శిష్యులు తరచుగా ఉపవాసప్రార్థనలు చేయుదురు; ఆలాగే పరిసయ్యుల శిష్యులును చేయుదురు గాని, నీ శిష్యులు తిని త్రాగుచున్నారే అని చెప్పిరి.
34అందుకు యేసుపెండ్లి కుమారుడు తమతో ఉన్నంతకాలము పెండ్లి ఇంటి వారి చేత మీరు ఉపవాసము చేయింప గలరా?
