1. కాబట్టి పురుషుడు తన తండ్రిని తన తల్లిని విడిచి తన భార్యను హత్తుకొనును; వారు ఏక శరీరమైయుందురు.

   Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

2. ఇద్దరి కష్టముచేత ఉభయులకు మంచిఫలముకలుగును గనుక ఒంటిగాడై యుండుటకంటె ఇద్దరు కూడి యుండుట మేలు. వారు పడిపోయినను ఒకడు తనతోడివానిని లేవనెత్తును; అయితే ఒంటరిగాడు పడిపోయినయెడల వానికి శ్రమయే కలుగును, వాని లేవనెత్తువాడు లేక పోవును. ఇద్దరు కలిసి పండుకొనినయెడల వారికి వెట్ట కలుగును; ఒంటరిగానికి వెట్ట ఏలాగు పుట్టును? ఒంటరి యగు నొకనిమీద మరియొకడు పడినయెడల ఇద్దరు కూడి వాని నెదిరింప గలరు, మూడు పేటల త్రాడు త్వరగా తెగిపోదు గదా?

   Two [are] better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him [that is] alone when he falleth; for [he hath] not another to help him up. Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm [alone]? And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

3. ప్రేమ దీర్ఘకాలము సహించును, దయ చూపించును. ప్రేమ మత్సరపడదు; ప్రేమ డంబముగా ప్రవర్తింపదు; అది ఉప్పొంగదు; అమర్యాదగా నడువదు; స్వప్రయో జనమును విచారించుకొనదు; త్వరగా కోపపడదు; అపకారమును మనస్సులో ఉంచుకొనదు. దుర్నీతివిషయమై సంతోషపడక సత్యమునందు సంతోషించును. అన్నిటికి తాళుకొనును, అన్నిటిని నమ్మును; అన్నిటిని నిరీక్షించును; అన్నిటిని ఓర్చును.

   Charity suffereth long, [and] is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

4. పురుషులారా, మీరును మీ భార్యలను ప్రేమించుడి. అటువలె క్రీస్తుకూడ సంఘమును ప్రేమించి,

   Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

5. వీటన్నిటిపైన పరిపూర్ణతకు అను బంధమైన ప్రేమను ధరించుకొనుడి.

   And above all these things [put on] charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

6. భార్య దొరికినవానికి మేలు దొరికెను అట్టివాడు యెహోవావలన అనుగ్రహము పొందిన వాడు.

   [Whoso] findeth a wife findeth a good [thing], and obtaineth favour of the LORD.

7. కాబట్టి దేవుడు జతపరచిన వారిని మనుష్యుడు వేరుపరచ కూడదని వారితో చెప్పెను.

   What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

8. అందుకు రూతునా వెంబడి రావద్దనియు నన్ను విడిచి పెట్టుమనియు నన్ను బ్రతిమాలుకొనవద్దు. నీవు వెళ్లు చోటికే నేను వచ్చెదను, నీవు నివసించుచోటనే నేను నివసించెదను, నీ జనమే నా జనము నీ దేవుడే నా దేవుడు;

   And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, [or] to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people [shall be] my people, and thy God my God:

9. అగాధసముద్ర జలము ప్రేమను ఆర్పజాలదు నదీ ప్రవాహములు దాని ముంచివేయజాలవు ప్రేమకై యొకడు తన స్వాస్థ్యమంత ఇచ్చినను తిరస్కారముతో అతడు త్రోసివేయబడును.

   Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it: if [a] man would give all the substance of his house for love, it would utterly be contemned.

10. ప్రేమ అనేక పాపములను కప్పును గనుక అన్నిటికంటె ముఖ్యముగా ఒకనియెడల ఒకడు మిక్కటమైన ప్రేమగలవారై యుండుడి.

    And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.

11. యెహోవా ఇల్లు కట్టించనియెడల దాని కట్టువారి ప్రయాసము వ్యర్థమే. యెహోవా పట్టణమును కాపాడనియెడల దాని కావలికాయువారు మేలుకొని యుండుటవ్యర్థమే.

    Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh [but] in vain.

12. గుణవతియైన భార్య దొరుకుట అరుదు అట్టిది ముత్యముకంటె అమూల్యమైనది.

    Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price [is] far above rubies.

13. మరియు దేవుడైన యెహోవా - నరుడు ఒంటరిగా నుండుట మంచిది కాదు; వానికి సాటియైన సహాయమును వానికొరకు చేయుదుననుకొనెను.

    And the LORD God said, [It is] not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

14. నీ లోగిట నీ భార్య ఫలించు ద్రాక్షావల్లివలె నుండును నీ భోజనపు బల్లచుట్టు నీ పిల్లలు ఒలీవ మొక్కలవలె నుందురు.

    Thy wife [shall be] as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table.

15. గృహమును విత్తమును పితరులిచ్చిన స్వాస్థ్యము సుబుద్ధిగల భార్య యెహోవాయొక్క దానము.

    House and riches [are] the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife [is] from the LORD.

16. వివాహము అన్ని విషయములలో ఘనమైనదిగాను, పానుపు నిష్కల్మషమైనది గాను ఉండవలెను; వేశ్యా సంగులకును వ్యభిచారులకును దేవుడు తీర్పు తీర్చును.

    Marriage [is] honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

17. కాగా విశ్వాసము, నిరీక్షణ, ప్రేమ యీ మూడును నిలుచును; వీటిలో శ్రేష్ఠమైనది ప్రేమయే.

    And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these [is] charity.

18. కాబట్టి వారికను ఇద్దరుకాక ఏకశరీరముగా ఉన్నారు గనుక దేవుడు జతపరచినవారిని మనుష్యుడు వేరుపరచ కూడదని చెప్పెను.

    Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

19. దేవుడు నీకు దయచేసిన వ్యర్థమైన నీ ఆయుష్కాలమంతయు నీవు ప్రేమించు నీ భార్యతో సుఖించుము, నీ వ్యర్థమైన ఆయుష్కాలమంతయు సుఖించుము, ఈ బ్రదుకునందు నీవు కష్టపడి చేసికొనిన దాని యంతటికి అదే నీకు కలుగు భాగము.

    Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all the days of thy vanity: for that [is] thy portion in [this] life, and in thy labour which thou takest under the sun.
