ಆಗ ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯರು ಹೊರಟು ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಬಾಗಿಲ ದ್ವಾರದ ಹತ್ತಿರ ವ್ಯೂಹಕಟ್ಟಿದರು. ಆದರೆ ಬಂದ ಅರಸುಗಳು ಬೇರೆಯಾಗಿ ಹೊಲದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದರು.

- 7ಹೀಗೆಯೇ ಅವರು ಮೂವತ್ತೆರಡು ಸಾವಿರ ರಥಗಳನ್ನೂ ಮಾಕದ ಅರಸನನ್ನೂ ಅವನ ಜನರನ್ನೂ ಕೂಲಿಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡರು. ಇವರು ಬಂದು ಮೇದೆಬ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ದಂಡಿಳಿದರು. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅಮ್ಮೋ ನಿಯರು ತಮ್ಮ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಯುದ್ಥಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದರು.
- 8ದಾವೀದನು ಇದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ ಅವನು ಯೋವಾ ಬನನ್ನೂ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಗಳ ಸೈನ್ಯವನ್ನೂ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.
- 9ಆಗ ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯರು ಹೊರಟು ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಬಾಗಿಲ ದ್ವಾರದ ಹತ್ತಿರ ವ್ಯೂಹಕಟ್ಟಿದರು. ಆದರೆ ಬಂದ ಅರಸುಗಳು ಬೇರೆಯಾಗಿ ಹೊಲದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದರು.
- 10ಯುದ್ಧವು ತನಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಹಿಂದೆಯೂ ಮುಂದೆಯೂ ಇರುವದನ್ನು ಯೋವಾ ಬನು ಕಂಡಾಗ ಅವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಸಮಸ್ತರೊಳಗೆ ಜನರನ್ನು ಆದುಕೊಂಡು ಅವರನ್ನು ಅರಾಮ್ಯರಿಗೆದುರಾಗಿ ವ್ಯೂಹ ಕಟ್ಟಿದನು.
- 11ಆದರೆ ಮಿಕ್ಕಾದವರು ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯರಿಗೆದುರಾಗಿ ವ್ಯೂಹಕಟ್ಟುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನಾದ ಅಬ್ಷೈನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟು ಅವನಿಗೆ--
