1 ಕೊರಿಂಥದವರಿಗೆ 14
ಪ್ರೀತಿಯನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸಿರಿ; ಆದರೂ ಆತ್ಮಿಕ ವರಗಳನ್ನು, ಅದರಲ್ಲೂ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸುವ ದನ್ನೇ ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸಿರಿ.
Follow after charity, and desire spiritual [gifts], but rather that ye may prophesy.
ಭಾಷೆಯನ್ನಾಡುವವನು ದೇವರ ಸಂಗಡಲೇ ಹೊರತು ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡು ವದಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವನು ಆತ್ಮನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು ರಹಸ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ನುಡಿ ಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದರೂ ಯಾರೂ ಅವನನ್ನು ತಿಳುಕೊಳ್ಳುವದಿಲ್ಲ.
For he that speaketh in an [unknown] tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth [him]; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.
ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸುವವನಾದರೋ ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡುವವನಾಗಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಭಕ್ತಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನೂ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹವನ್ನೂ ಸಂತೈಸುವಿಕೆಯನ್ನೂ ಉಂಟು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.
But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men [to] edification, and exhortation, and comfort.
ಭಾಷೆಯನ್ನಾಡುವವನು ತನಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಭಕ್ತಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನುಂಟು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸು ವವನಾದರೋ ಸಭೆಗೆ ಭಕ್ತಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನುಂಟು ಮಾಡು ತ್ತಾನೆ.
He that speaketh in an [unknown] tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.
ನೀವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಭಾಷೆಗಳನ್ನಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಾನು ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ; ಆದರೆ ಅದಕ್ಕಿಂತಲೂ ನೀವು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸಬೇಕೆಂಬದೇ ನನ್ನಿಷ್ಟ. ಭಾಷೆಗಳನ್ನಾಡು ವವನು ಸಭೆಗೆ ಭಕ್ತಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಗುವದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಆ ಭಾಷೆಯ ಅರ್ಥವನ್ನು ಹೇಳದೆ ಹೋದರೆ ಅವನಿಗಿಂತ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸುವವನು ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ.
I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater [is] he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.
ಹೀಗಿರುವದರಿಂದ ಸಹೋದರರೇ, ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಪ್ರಕಟ ವಾದದ್ದರಿಂದಾಗಲಿ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಜ್ಞಾನದಿಂದಾಗಲಿ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಪ್ರವಾದನೆಯಿಂದಾಗಲಿ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಬೋಧನೆಯಿಂದಾ ಗಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡದೆ ಭಾಷೆಗಳಿಂದ ಮಾತ್ರ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ದರೆ ನನ್ನಿಂದ ನಿಮಗೇನು ಪ್ರಯೋಜನ?
Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine?
ಕೊಳಲು ವೀಣೆ ಮೊದಲಾದ ಅಚೇತನವಾದ್ಯಗಳು ಸ್ವರಗಳಲಿ ಯಾವ ಭೇದವನ್ನೂ ತೋರಿಸದಿದ್ದರೆ ಊದಿದ್ದು ಅಥವಾ ಬಾರಿಸಿದ್ದು ತಿಳಿಯುವದು ಹೇಗೆ?
And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped?
ತುತೂರಿಯು ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲದ ಶಬ್ದವನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟರೆ ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನು ಯಾರು?
For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?
ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನೀವು ಸುಲಭವಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿಯಬಹುದಾದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನಾಡದೆ ಹೋದರೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ್ದು ಏನೆಂದು ಹೇಗೆ ತಿಳಿದೀತು? ನೀವು ಗಾಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಹಾಗಿರುವದಷ್ಟೆ.
So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air.
ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಅನೇಕ ವಿಧವಾದ ಸ್ವರಗಳು ಇದ್ದರೂ ಇರಬಹುದು; ಆದರೆ ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅರ್ಥವಿಲ್ಲದ್ದು ಒಂದಾದರೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.
There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them [is] without signification.
ಆದದರಿಂದ ಭಾಷೆಯ ಅರ್ಥವು ನನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ ದಿದ್ದರೆ ಮಾತನಾಡುವವನಿಗೆ ನಾನು ಅನ್ಯದೇಶ ದವನಂತಿರುವೆನು; ಮಾತನಾಡುವವನು ನನಗೆ ಅನ್ಯ ದೇಶದವನಂತಿರುವನು.
Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh [shall be] a barbarian unto me.
ಅದರಂತೆಯೇ ನೀವು ಆತ್ಮಿಕ ವರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಆಸಕ್ತಿಯುಳ್ಳವರಾಗಿರುವದರಿಂದ ಸಭೆಯ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಭಕ್ತಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗಾಗಿ ತವಕಪಡಿರಿ.
Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual [gifts], seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.
ಆದದರಿಂದ ಅನ್ಯಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುವವನು ಅದರ ಅರ್ಥ ಹೇಳುವಂತೆ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಲಿ.
Wherefore let him that speaketh in an [unknown] tongue pray that he may interpret.
ಅನ್ಯಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಿದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಆತ್ಮವು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸುವದು; ಆದರೆ ನನ್ನ ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆಯು ನಿಷ್ಪಲವಾಗಿರುವದು.
For if I pray in an [unknown] tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.
ಹಾಗಾದ ರೇನು? ನಾನು ಆತ್ಮದಿಂದ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸುವೆನು, ಬುದ್ಧಿ ಯಿಂದಲೂ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸುವೆನು; ಆತ್ಮದಿಂದ ಹಾಡು ವೆನು, ಬುದ್ಧಿಯಿಂದಲೂ ಹಾಡುವೆನು.
What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.
ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ನೀನು ಆತ್ಮದಿಂದ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರ ಮಾಡುವಾಗ ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆ ಯಿಲ್ಲದವನು ನೀನು ಮಾಡುವ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತಾಸ್ತುತಿಯನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಯದೆ ಇರುವದರಿಂದ ನೀನು ಹೇಳುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಆಮೆನ್‌ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವದು ಹೇಗೆ?
Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest?
ನೀನಂತೂ ನಿಜ ವಾಗಿಯೂ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತಾಸ್ತುತಿ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೀ; ಆದರೆ ಬೇರೊಬ್ಬನು ಭಕ್ತಿವೃದ್ದಿ ಹೊಂದುವದಿಲ್ಲ.
For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.
ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಭಾಷೆಗಳನ್ನಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆಂದು ನನ್ನ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ.
I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:
ಆದರೂ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅನ್ಯಭಾಷೆಯಿಂದ ಹತ್ತುಸಾವಿರ ಮಾತು ಗಳನ್ನಾಡುವದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ನನ್ನ ಬುದ್ಧಿಯಿಂದ ಐದೇ ಮಾತು ಗಳನ್ನಾಡಿ ಇತರರಿಗೆ ಉಪದೇಶಮಾಡುವದು ನನಗೆ ಇಷ್ಟವಾದದ್ದು.
Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that [by my voice] I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an [unknown] tongue.
ಸಹೋದರರೇ, ಬುದ್ಧಿಯ ವಿಷಯ ದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಾಲಕರಾಗಿರಬೇಡಿರಿ; ಕೆಟ್ಟತನದ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಶುಗಳಾಗಿಯೇ ಇದ್ದು ಬುದ್ಧಿಯ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾಯಸ್ಥರಾಗಿರಬೇಕು.
Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.
ಬೇರೆ ಭಾಷೆಯವರ ಮೂಲಕವಾಗಿಯೂ ಬೇರೆ ಯವರ ತುಟಿಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ನಾನು ಈ ಜನರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡುವೆನು; ಆದರೂ ಅವರು ನನ್ನ ಮಾತಿಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡುವದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಕರ್ತನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆಂಬ ದಾಗಿ ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದದೆ.
In the law it is written, With [men of] other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.
ಆದದ ರಿಂದ ಭಾಷೆಗಳು ನಂಬುವವರಿಗೆ ಅಲ್ಲ, ನಂಬದವರಿಗೆ ಸೂಚನೆಯಾಗಿವೆ; ಆದರೆ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸುವದು ನಂಬದ ವರಿಗಲ್ಲ, ನಂಬುವವರಿಗೆ ಸೂಚನೆಯಾಗಿದೆ.
Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying [serveth] not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.
ಆದ ಕಾರಣ ಸಭೆಯೆಲ್ಲವೂ ಒಂದು ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಡಿ ಬಂದಾಗ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಭಾಷೆಗಳನ್ನಾಡುವದಾದರೆ ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆ ಯಿಲ್ಲದವರು ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಅವಿಶ್ವಾಸಿಗಳು ಒಳಗೆ ಬಂದು ನೀವು ಹುಚ್ಚರಾಗಿದ್ದೀರೆಂದು ಹೇಳುವದಿಲ್ಲವೇ?
If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in [those that are] unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?
ಆದರೆ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸುವಾಗ ಒಬ್ಬ ಅವಿಶ್ವಾಸಿ ಯಾಗಲಿ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆಯಿಲ್ಲದವನಾಗಲಿ ಒಳಗೆ ಬಂದರೆ ಅವನು ಎಲ್ಲರಿಂದ ಅರುಹು ಹೊಂದುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಎಲ್ಲರಿಂದ ಪರಿಶೋಧಿತನಾಗುತ್ತಾನೆ.
But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or [one] unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all:
ಹೀಗೆ ಅವನ ಹೃದಯದ ರಹಸ್ಯಗಳು ತೋರಿಬರುತ್ತವೆ; ಅವನು ಸಾಷ್ಟಾಂಗವೆರಗಿ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಆರಾಧಿಸಿ ನಿಜಕ್ಕೂ ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರಿದ್ದಾನೆಂದು ಹೇಳುವನು.
And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on [his] face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.
ಹಾಗಾದರೇನು? ಸಹೋದರರೇ, ನೀವು ಕೂಡಿ ಬಂದಾಗ ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನಿಗೆ ಕೀರ್ತನೆಯಾಗಲಿ, ಬೋಧನೆಯಾಗಲಿ, ಭಾಷೆಯಾಗಲಿ, ಪ್ರಕಟನೆಯಾ ಗಲಿ ಭಾಷೆಯ ಅರ್ಥ ಹೇಳುವದಾಗಲಿ ಇರುತ್ತದಷ್ಟೆ. ಎಲ್ಲವುಗಳು ಭಕ್ತವೃದ್ಧಿಗಾಗಿಯೇ ನಡೆಯಲಿ.
How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.
ಯಾವ ನಾದರೂ ಅನ್ಯಭಾಷೆಯನ್ನಾಡುವದಾದರೆ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಅಥವಾ ಮೂವರಿಗಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಒಬ್ಬೊಬ್ಬರಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಬೇಕು; ಒಬ್ಬನು ಅರ್ಥವನ್ನು ಹೇಳಲಿ;
If any man speak in an [unknown] tongue, [let it be] by two, or at the most [by] three, and [that] by course; and let one interpret.
ಅರ್ಥವನ್ನು ಹೇಳುವವನಿಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆ ಅವನು (ಭಾಷೆ ಯನ್ನಾಡುವವನು) ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮೌನವಾಗಿರಲಿ; ಅವನು ತನ್ನೊಂದಿಗೆಯೂ ದೇವರೊಂದಿಗೆಯೂ ಮಾತನಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿ.
But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.
ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳು ಇಬ್ಬರಾಗಲಿ ಮೂವರಾಗಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಲಿ, ಮಿಕ್ಕಾದವರು ವಿವೇಚ ನೆಮಾಡಲಿ.
Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.
ಪಕ್ಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂತಿರುವ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಕಟನೆ ಉಂಟಾದರೆ ಮೊದಲಿನವನು ಸುಮ್ಮನಾಗಲಿ.
If [any thing] be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace.
ನೀವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಒಬ್ಬೊಬ್ಬರಾಗಿ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸಬಹುದು; ಹೀಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಕಲಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವರು, ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಆದರಣೆ ಹೊಂದುವರು.
For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.
ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳ ಆತ್ಮಗಳು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳ ಸ್ವಾಧೀನದಲ್ಲಿವೆ.
And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.
ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧರ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸಭೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ದೇವರು ಸಮಾಧಾನಕ್ಕೇ ಹೊರತು ಗಲಿಬಿಲಿಗೆ ಕಾರಣನಲ್ಲ.
For God is not [the author] of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರು ಸಭೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮೌನವಾಗಿರಬೇಕು; ಮಾತನಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಯಿಲ್ಲ; ಅವರು ವಿಧೇಯರಾಗಿರಬೇಕೆಂದು ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣವು ಸಹ ಹೇಳುತ್ತದಲ್ಲಾ.
Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but [they are commanded] to be under obedience, as also saith the law.
ಅವರು ಏನಾದರೂ ತಿಳುಕೊಳ್ಳುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸಿದರೆ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಗಂಡಂದಿರನ್ನು ಕೇಳಲಿ. ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರು ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುವದು ನಾಚಿಗೆಗೆಟ್ಟದ್ದಾಗಿದೆ.
And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
ಏನು, ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವು ನಿಮ್ಮಿಂದಲೇ ಹೊರ ಟಿತೋ? ನಿಮಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರವೇ ಬಂತೋ?
What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?
ಯಾವ ನಾದರೂ ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯೆಂದಾಗಲಿ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಆತ್ಮಿಕನೆಂದಾಗಲಿ ಭಾವಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರೆ ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಬರೆದಿರುವ ವಿಷಯಗಳು ಕರ್ತನ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳೇ ಎಂದು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ತಿಳುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿ.
If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.
ಆದರೆ ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ತಿಳಿಯದವನಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಅವನು ತಿಳಿಯದವನಾಗಿಯೇ ಇರಲಿ.
But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.
ಆದಕಾರಣ ಸಹೋದರರೇ, ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸುವದನ್ನು ಆಶಿಸಿರಿ. ಮತ್ತು ಭಾಷೆಗಳನ್ನಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಡ್ಡಿಮಾಡ ಬೇಡಿರಿ.ಎಲ್ಲವುಗಳು ಮರ್ಯಾದೆಯಿಂದಲೂ ಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿಯೂ ನಡೆಯಲಿ.
Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.
ಎಲ್ಲವುಗಳು ಮರ್ಯಾದೆಯಿಂದಲೂ ಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿಯೂ ನಡೆಯಲಿ.
Let all things be done decently and in order.
