ನಾನು ಈಗ ಹೇಳುವದೇನಂದರೆ, ಬಾಧ್ಯನು ತಾನು ಆಸ್ತಿಗೆಲ್ಲಾ ಧಣಿಯಾ ಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಬಾಲಕನಾಗಿರುವ ತನಕ ದಾಸನಿಗೂ ಅವ ನಿಗೂ ಯಾವ ಭೇದವೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.
Now I say, [That] the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;
ಆದರೆ ತಂದೆಯು ನೇಮಿಸಿದ ದಿನದವರೆಗೂ ಅವನು ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರ ಮತ್ತು ಮನೆವಾರ್ತೆಯವರ ಕೈಕೆಳಗಿರುವನು.
But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.
ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನಾವು ಸಹ ಬಾಲಕರಾಗಿದ್ದಾಗ ಲೋಕದ ಮೂಲ ಪಾಠಗಳಿಗೆ ಅಧೀನರಾಗಿದ್ದೆವು.
Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:
ಆದರೆ ಕಾಲವು ಪರಿಪೂರ್ಣವಾದಾಗ ದೇವರು ತನ್ನ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯಿಂದ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದವನನ್ನಾಗಿಯೂ ನ್ಯಾಯ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳಗಾದವನನ್ನಾಗಿಯೂ ಮಾಡಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದಲ್ಲದೆ
But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣಾಧೀನರನ್ನು ವಿಮೋಚಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೂ ನಾವು ದತ್ತುಪುತ್ರರ ಸ್ವೀಕಾರವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದುವಂತೆಯೂ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
ನೀವು ಪುತ್ರ ರಾಗಿರುವದರಿಂದ--ಅಪ್ಪಾ, ತಂದೆಯೇ ಎಂದು ಕೂಗುವ ತನ್ನ ಮಗನ ಆತ್ಮನನ್ನು ದೇವರು ನಿಮ ಹೃದಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
ಹೀಗಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಇನ್ನು ನೀನು ದಾಸನಲ್ಲ, ಮಗನಾಗಿದ್ದೀ; ಮಗನೆಂದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಮೂಲಕ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಬಾಧ್ಯನೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದೀ.
Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
ಪೂರ್ವಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವು ದೇವರನ್ನರಿಯದವರಾಗಿ ಸ್ವಾಭಾವಿಕವಾಗಿ ದೇವರಲ್ಲದವುಗಳನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸಿದಿರಿ.
Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods.
ಈಗಲಾದರೋ ನೀವು ದೇವರನ್ನು ತಿಳುಕೊಂಡಿ ದ್ದೀರಿ; ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಬೇಕಾದರೆ ದೇವರು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತಿಳುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಹೀಗಿರಲಾಗಿ ನೀವು ಬಲಹೀನವಾದ ದರಿದ್ರ ಮೂಲ ಪಾಠಗಳಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತೂ ಅಧೀನರಾಗ ಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸಿ ಪುನಃ ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ನೀವು ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವದು ಹೇಗೆ?
But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?
ನೀವು ಆಯಾ ದಿನ ಗಳನ್ನೂ ಮಾಸಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕಾಲಗಳನ್ನೂ ಸಂವತ್ಸರಗಳನ್ನೂ ಆಚರಿಸುತ್ತೀರಿ.
Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years.
ನಾವು ನಿಮಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಪ್ರಯಾಸ ಪಟ್ಟದ್ದು ನಿಷ್ಪಲವಾಯಿತೋ ಏನೋ ಎಂದು ನಿಮ್ಮ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ಭಯಪಡುತ್ತೇನೆ.
I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.
ಸಹೋದರರೇ, ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹಾಗೆ ಆದದ್ದ ರಿಂದ ನೀವೂ ನನ್ನ ಹಾಗೆ ಆಗಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇನೆ. ನೀವು ನನಗೇನೂ ಕೇಡು ಮಾಡ ಲಿಲ್ಲ.
Brethren, I beseech you, be as I [am]; for I [am] as ye [are]: ye have not injured me at all.
ನನ್ನ ಶರೀರಕ್ಕೆ ಅಸೌಖ್ಯವಿದ್ದದರಿಂದ ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು ಮೊದಲನೆಯ ನಿಮಗೆ ಸುವಾರ್ತೆ ಸಾರಿದ್ದನ್ನು ನೀವು ಬಲ್ಲಿರಿ.
Ye know how through infirmity of the flesh I preached the gospel unto you at the first.
ನನ್ನ ಶರೀರದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಶೋಧನೆಯನ್ನು ನೀವು ಹೀನೈಸಲಿಲ್ಲ. ನಿರಾಕರಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಆದರೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ದೇವದೂತನಂತೆಯೂ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತ ಯೇಸು ವಿನಂತೆಯೂ ಸೇರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿರಿ.
And my temptation which was in my flesh ye despised not, nor rejected; but received me as an angel of God, [even] as Christ Jesus.
ಆಗ ನಿಮಗೆ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದವಾಯಿತೆಂದು ನೀವು ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡಿ ರಲ್ಲಾ; ಅದು ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋಯಿತು? ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನಾದರೂ ಕಿತ್ತು ನನಗೆ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಿ ರೆಂದು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ನಾನು ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.
Where is then the blessedness ye spake of? for I bear you record, that, if [it had been] possible, ye would have plucked out your own eyes, and have given them to me.
ಹೀಗಿರಲಾಗಿ ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಸತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹೇಳು ವದರಿಂದ ನಿಮಗೆ ಶತ್ರುವಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೋ?
Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?
ಅವರು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಆಸಕ್ತರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ; ಆದರೆ ಒಳ್ಳೇ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯದಿಂದ ಅಲ್ಲ; ಹೌದು, ನೀವು ತಮ್ಮನ್ನೇ ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವವರಾಗಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಅಗ ಲಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
They zealously affect you, [but] not well; yea, they would exclude you, that ye might affect them.
ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಂಗಡ ಇರುವಾಗ ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲದೆ ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಒಳ್ಳೇ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವು ಆಸಕ್ತರಾಗಿರುವದು ಒಳ್ಳೇದು.
But [it is] good to be zealously affected always in [a] good [thing], and not only when I am present with you.
ನನ್ನ ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಮಕ್ಕಳೇ, ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಸಾರೂಪ್ಯವು ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಉಂಟಾಗುವ ತನಕ ನಿಮಗೋಸ್ಕರ ತಿರಿಗಿ ಪ್ರಸವ ವೇದನೆಪಡುತ್ತೇನೆ.
My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,
ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ವಿಷಯದಲಿ ಸಂಶಯಪಡುವವನಾದದರಿಂದ ಈಗ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಜೊತೆ ಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು ನನ್ನ ಸ್ವರವನ್ನು ಬದಲಾಯಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ.
I desire to be present with you now, and to change my voice; for I stand in doubt of you.
ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣಧೀನರಾಗುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಮನಸ್ಸುಳ್ಳ ವರೇ, ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡುವದಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ನನಗೆ ಹೇಳಿರಿ.
Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?
ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ದಾಸಿಯಿಂದ ಒಬ್ಬನು, ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರಳಿಂದ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಹೀಗೆ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನಿಗೆ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಪುತ್ರರಿದ್ದರೆಂದು ಬರೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ.
For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman.
ದಾಸಿಯಿಂದ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದವನು ಶರೀರಕ್ಕನಸುಸಾರವಾಗಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದನು. ಆದರೆ ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರಳಿಂದ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದವನು ವಾಗ್ದಾನದ ಮೂಲಕ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದನು.
But he [who was] of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman [was] by promise.
ಈ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳು ಉಪಮಾನವಾಗಿವೆ; ಹೇಗಂದರೆ, ಇವರು ಎರಡು ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಗಳೆ, ಒಂದು ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆ ಸೀನಾಯಿ ಪರ್ವತದಿಂದ ಉತ್ಪನ್ನವಾಗಿ ದಾಸತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿರಬೇಕಾದ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಹೆರುವಂಥದ್ದು; ಅದೇ ಹಾಗರ್‌.
Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.
ಹಾಗರ್‌ ಅಂದರೆ ಅರಬಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೀನಾಯಿ ಪರ್ವತ. ಆಕೆಯು ಈಗಿನ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮ್‌ ಎಂಬವಳಿಗೆ ಸರಿಬೀಳುತ್ತಾಳೆ; ಹೇಗಂದರೆ, ಈಕೆಯು ತನ್ನ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಸಹಿತ ದಾಸತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾಳೆ.
For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.
ಆದರೆ ಮೇಲಣ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮ್‌ ಎಂಬವಳು ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರಳು, ಇವಳೇ ನಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೆ ತಾಯಿ.
But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.
ಯಾಕಂದರೆ--ಬಂಜೆಯೇ, ಹೆರದವಳೇ, ಸಂತೋಷಿಸು; ಪ್ರಸವ ವೇದನೆ ಪಡದವಳೇ, ಸ್ವರವೆತ್ತಿ ಕೂಗು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಗಂಡನುಳ್ಳವಳಿಗಿಂತ ಬಿಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವಳಿಗೆ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಮಕ್ಕಳಿದ್ದಾರೆಂದು ಬರೆದದೆ.
For it is written, Rejoice, [thou] barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband.
ಸಹೋದರರೇ, ನಾವು ಈಗ ಇಸಾಕನಂತೆ ವಾಗ್ದಾನದ ಮಕ್ಕಳಾಗಿದ್ದೇವೆ.
Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
ಆದರೆ ಆಗ ಶರೀರಕ್ಕನುಸಾರವಾಗಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದವನು ಆತ್ಮಕ್ಕನುಸಾರವಾಗಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದವನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಸೆಪಡಿಸಿದನು. ಅದರಂತೆಯೇ ಈಗಲೂ ಅದೆ.
But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him [that was born] after the Spirit, even so [it is] now.
ಆದರೂ ಬರಹವು ಏನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತದೆ? ದಾಸಿಯನ್ನೂ ಅವಳ ಮಗನನ್ನೂ ಹೊರಗೆ ಹಾಕು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ದಾಸಿಯ ಮಗನು ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರಳ ಮಗನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಎಷ್ಟು ಮಾತ್ರಕ್ಕೂ ಬಾಧ್ಯ ನಾಗಬಾರದು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತದೆ.ಹೀಗಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಸಹೋದರರೇ, ನಾವು ದಾಸಿಯ ಮಕ್ಕಳಲ್ಲ, ಆ ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರಳ ಮಕ್ಕಳೇ ಆಗಿದ್ದೇವೆ.
Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.
ಹೀಗಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಸಹೋದರರೇ, ನಾವು ದಾಸಿಯ ಮಕ್ಕಳಲ್ಲ, ಆ ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರಳ ಮಕ್ಕಳೇ ಆಗಿದ್ದೇವೆ.
So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.
