అందుకు నేను నేరము మోపబడివవాడు నేరము మోపినవారికి ముఖా ముఖిగా వచ్చి, తనమీద మోపబడిన నేరమునుగూర్చి సమాధానము చెప్పుకొనుటకు అవకాశమియ్యకమునుపు ఏ మనుష్యునినైనను అప్పగించుట రోమీయుల ఆచారము కాదని ఉత్తరమిచ్చితిని.

- 17కాబట్టి వారిక్కడికి కూడి వచ్చినప్పుడు నేను ఆలస్యమేమియు చేయక, మరునాడు న్యాయ పీఠముమీద కూర్చుండి ఆ మనుష్యుని తీసికొని రమ్మని ఆజ్ఞాపించితిని.
- 18నేరము మోపినవారు నిలిచినప్పుడు, నేననుకొనిన నేరములలో ఒకటియైనను అతని మీద మోపినవారు కారు.
