భూమిమీద నరుల కాలము యుద్ధ కాలము కాదా?వారి దినములు కూలివాని దినములవంటివి కావా?
[Is there] not an appointed time to man upon earth? [are not] his days also like the days of an hireling?
నీడను మిగులనపేక్షించు దాసునివలెను కూలినిమిత్తము కనిపెట్టుకొను కూలివానివలెను
As a servant earnestly desireth the shadow, and as an hireling looketh for [the reward of] his work:
ఆశ లేకయే జరుగు నెలలను నేను చూడవలసివచ్చెను. ఆయాసముతో కూడిన రాత్రులు నాకు నియమింపబడి యున్నవి. నేను పండుకొనునప్పుడెల్ల
So am I made to possess months of vanity, and wearisome nights are appointed to me.
ఎప్పుడు లేచెదనా? రాత్రి యెప్పుడు గతించునా? అని యనుకొందును. తెల్లవారువరకు ఇటు ఆటు పొరలుచు ఆయాసపడుదును.
When I lie down, I say, When shall I arise, and the night be gone? and I am full of tossings to and fro unto the dawning of the day.
నా దేహము పురుగులతోను మంటి పెల్లలతోను కప్పబడియున్నది. నా చర్మము మాని మరల పగులుచున్నది.
My flesh is clothed with worms and clods of dust; my skin is broken, and become loathsome.
నా దినములు నేతగాని నాడెకంటెను వడిగా గతించుచున్నవి నిరీక్షణ లేక అవి క్షయమై పోవుచున్నవి.
My days are swifter than a weaver’s shuttle, and are spent without hope.
నా జీవము వట్టి ఊపిరియే అని జ్ఞాపకము చేసికొనుము. నా కన్ను ఇకను మేలు చూడదు.
O remember that my life [is] wind: mine eye shall no more see good.
నన్ను చూచువారి కన్ను ఇకమీదట నన్ను చూడదు. నీ కన్నులు నా తట్టు చూచును గాని నేనుండక పోదును.
The eye of him that hath seen me shall see me no [more:] thine eyes [are] upon me, and I [am] not.
మేఘము విడిపోయి అదృశ్యమగునట్లు పాతాళమునకు దిగిపోయినవాడు మరి ఎప్పుడునురాడు
[As] the cloud is consumed and vanisheth away: so he that goeth down to the grave shall come up no [more].
అతడు ఇక ఎన్నడును తన యింటికి రాడు అతని స్థలము అతని మరల నెరుగదు.
He shall return no more to his house, neither shall his place know him any more.
కావున నేను నా నోరు మూసికొననునా ఆత్మ వేదనకొలది నేను మాటలాడెదనునా మనోవేదననుబట్టి మూల్గుచుండెదను.
Therefore I will not refrain my mouth; I will speak in the anguish of my spirit; I will complain in the bitterness of my soul.
నేనొక సముద్రమునా? సముద్రములోని భుజంగమునా? నీవెందుకు నా మీద కావలి యుంచెదవు?
[Am] I a sea, or a whale, that thou settest a watch over me?
నా మంచము నాకు ఆదరణ ఇచ్చును. నా పరుపు నా బాధకు ఉపశాంతి ఇచ్చును అనినేననుకొనగా
When I say, My bed shall comfort me, my couch shall ease my complaint;
నీవు స్వప్నములవలన నన్ను బెదరించెదవు దర్శనములవలన నన్ను భయపెట్టెదవు.
Then thou scarest me with dreams, and terrifiest me through visions:
కావున నేను ఉరితీయబడవలెనని కోరుచున్నానుఈ నా యెముకలను చూచుటకన్న మరణమొందుట నాకిష్టము.
So that my soul chooseth strangling, [and] death rather than my life.
అవి నాకు అసహ్యములు, నిత్యము బ్రదుకుటకు నా కిష్టము లేదునా దినములు ఊపిరివలె నున్నవి, నా జోలికి రావద్దు.
I loathe [it;] I would not live alway: let me alone; for my days [are] vanity.
మనుష్యుడు ఏపాటివాడు? అతని ఘనపరచనేల? అతనిమీద నీవు మనస్సు నిలుపనేల?
What [is] man, that thou shouldest magnify him? and that thou shouldest set thine heart upon him?
ప్రతి పగలు నీవతని దర్శింపనేల?ప్రతి క్షణమున నీవతని శోధింపనేల?
And [that] thou shouldest visit him every morning, [and] try him every moment?
ఎంత కాలము నీవు నన్ను చూచుట మానకుందువు?నేను గుటక వేయువరకు నన్ను విడిచిపెట్టవా?
How long wilt thou not depart from me, nor let me alone till I swallow down my spittle?
నేను పాపముచేసితినా? నరులను కనిపెట్టువాడా, నేను నీ యెడల ఏమి చేయగలను?నాకు నేనే భారముగా నున్నాను, నీవేల గురి పెట్టితివి?
I have sinned; what shall I do unto thee, O thou preserver of men? why hast thou set me as a mark against thee, so that I am a burden to myself?
నీవేల నా అతిక్రమమును పరిహరింపవు? నా దోషము నేల క్షమింపవు?నేనిప్పుడు మంటిలో పండుకొనెదనునీవు నన్ను జాగ్రత్తగా వెదకెదవు గాని నేనులేక పోయెదను.
And why dost thou not pardon my transgression, and take away mine iniquity? for now shall I sleep in the dust; and thou shalt seek me in the morning, but I [shall] not [be].
