1. परन्तु जब पवित्र आत्मा तुम पर आएगा तब तुम सामर्थ पाओगे; और यरूशलेम और सारे यहूदिया और सामरिया में, और पृथ्वी की छोर तक मेरे गवाह होगे।

   But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judæa, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

2. और वे सब पवित्रा आत्मा से भर गए, और जिस प्रकार आत्मा ने उन्हें बोलने की सामर्थ दी, वे अन्य अन्य भाषा बोलने लगे।।

   And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

3. परन्तु सहायक अर्थात् पवित्रा आत्मा जिसे पिता मेरे नाम से भेजेगा, वह तुम्हें सब बातें सिखाएगा, और जो कुछ मैं ने तुम से कहा है, वह सब तुम्हें स्मरण कराएगा।

   But the Comforter, [which is] the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

4. पर आत्मा का फल प्रेम, आनन्द, मेल, धीरज, और कृपा, भालाई, विश्वास, नम्रता, और संयम हैं; ऐसे ऐसे कामों के विरोध में कोई व्यवस्था नहीं।

   But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

5. इसी रीति से आत्मा भी हमारी दुर्बलता में सहायता करता है, क्योंकि हम नहीं जानते, कि प्रार्थना किस रीति से करना चाहिए; परन्तु आत्मा आप ही ऐसी आहें भर भरकर जो बयान से बाहर है, हमारे लिये बिनती करता है।

   Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

6. उन बातों के बाद मैं सब प्राणियों पर अपना आत्मा उण्डेलूंगा; तुम्हारे बेटे- बेटियां भविष्यद्वाणी करेंगी, और तुम्हारे पुरनिये स्वप्न देखेंगे, और तुम्हारे जवान दर्शन देखेंगे।

   And it shall come to pass afterward, [that] I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

7. क्या तुम नहीं जानते, कि तुम्हारी देह पवित्रात्मा का मन्दिर है; जो तुम में बसा हुआ है और तुम्हें परमेश्वर की ओर से मिला है, और तुम अपने नहीं हो?

   What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost [which is] in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

8. मैं तुम को नया मन दूंगा, और तुम्हारे भीतर नई आत्मा उत्पन्न करूंगा; और तुम्हारी देह में से पत्थर का हृदय निकालकर तुम को मांस का हृदय दूंगा। और मैं अपना आत्मा तुम्हारे भीतर देकर ऐसा करूंगा कि तुम मेरी विधियों पर चलोगे और मेरे नियमों को मानकर उनके अनुसार करोगे।

   A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do [them].

9. परन्तु जब वह अर्थात् सत्य का आत्मा आएगा, तो तुम्हें सब सत्य का मार्ग बताएगा, क्योंकि वह अपनी ओर से न कहेगा, परन्तु जो कुछ सुनेगा, वही कहेगा, और आनेवाली बातें तुम्हें बताएगा।

   Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, [that] shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

10. इसलिये कि जितने लोग परमेश्वर के आत्मा के चलाए चलते हैं, वे ही परमेश्वर के पुत्रा हैं।

    For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

11. सो जब तुम बुरे होकर अपने लड़केबालों को अच्छी वस्तुऐ देना जानते हो, तो स्वर्गीय पिता अपने मांगनेवालों को पवित्रा आत्मा क्यों न देगा।।

    If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall [your] heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

12. तब उस ने मुझे उत्तर देकर कहा, जरूब्बाबेल के लिये यहोवा का यह वचन है: न तो बल से, और न शक्ति से, परन्तु मेरे आत्मा के द्वारा होगा, मुझ सेनाओं के यहोवा का यही वचन है।

    Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This [is] the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.
