1. क्योंकि यहोवा की यह वाणी है, कि जो कल्पनाएं मैं तुम्हारे विषय करता हूँ उन्हें मैं जानता हूँ, वे हानी की नहीं, वरन कुशल ही की हैं, और अन्त में तुम्हारी आशा पूरी करूंगा।

   For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

2. व्यवस्था की यह पुस्तक तेरे चित्त से कभी न उतरने पाए, इसी में दिन रात ध्यान दिए रहना, इसलिये कि जो कुछ उस में लिखा है उसके अनुसार करने की तू चौकसी करे; क्योंकि ऐसा ही करने से तेरे सब काम सुफल होंगे, और तू प्रभावशाली होगा।

   This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

3. तू अपनी समझ का सहारा न लेना, वरन सम्पूर्ण मन से यहोवा पर भरोसा रखना। उसी को स्मरण करके सब काम करना, तब वे तेरे लिये सीधा मार्ग निकालेगा।

   Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

4. अपने कामों को यहोवा पर डाल दे, इस से तेरी कल्पनाएं सिद्ध होंगी।

   Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.

5. यहोवा को अपने सुख का मूल जान, और वह तेरे मनोरथों को मूरा करेगा।। अपने मार्ग की चिन्ता यहोवा पर छोड़; और उस पर भरोसा रख, वही पूरा करेगा।

   Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring [it] to pass.

6. अब बीती हुई घटनाओं का स्मरण मत करो, न प्राचीनकाल की बातों पर मन लगाओ। देखो, मैं एक नई बात करता हूं; वह अभी प्रगट होगी, क्या तुम उस से अनजान रहोगे? मैं जंगल में एक मार्ग बनाऊंगा और निर्जल देश में नदियां बहाऊंगा।

   Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, [and] rivers in the desert.

7. हे भाइयों, मेरी भावना यह नहीं कि मैं पकड़ चुका हूं: परन्तु केवल यह एक काम करता हूं, कि जो बातें पीछे रह गई हैं उन को भूल कर, आगे की बातों की ओर बढ़ता हुआ। निशाने की ओर दौड़ा चला जाता हूं, ताकि वह इनाम पाऊं, जिस के लिये परमेश्वर ने मुझे मसीह यीशु में ऊपर बुलाया है।

   Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but [this] one thing [I do], forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

8. हम भले काम करने में हियाव न छोड़े, क्योंकि यदि हम ढीले न हांे, तो ठीक समय पर कटनी काटेंगे।

   And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

9. और जो कुछ तुम करते हो, तन मन से करो, यह समझकर कि मनुष्यों के लिये नहीं परन्तु प्रभु के लिये करते हो।

   And what soever ye do, do [it] heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

10. और यहोवा तुझ को पुंछ नहीं, किन्तु सिर ही ठहराएगा, और तू नीचे नहीं, परन्तु ऊपर ही रहेगा; यदि परमेश्वर यहोवा की आज्ञाएं जो मैं आज तुझ को सुनाता हूं, तू उनके मानने में मन लगाकर चौकसी करे;

    And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do [them:]

11. इसलिये पहिले तुम उसे राज्य और धर्म की खोज करो तो ये सब वस्तुएं तुम्हें मिल जाएंगी।

    But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

12. वह उस वृक्ष के समान है, जो बहती नालियों के किनारे लगाया गया है। और अपनी ऋतु में फलता है, और जिसके पत्ते कभी मुरझाते नहीं। इसलिये जो कुछ वह पुरूष करे वह सफल होता है।।

    And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

13. सो हे मेरे प्रिय भाइयो, दृढ़ और अटल रहो, और प्रभु के काम में सर्वदा बढ़ते जाओ, क्योंकि यह जानते हो, कि तुम्हारा परिश्रम प्रभु में व्यर्थ नहीं है।।

    Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

14. परन्तु इन सब बातों में हम उसके द्वारा जिस ने हम से प्रेम किया है, जयवन्त से भी बढ़कर हैं।

    Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
