కుమారులారా, తండ్రి యుపదేశము వినుడి మీరు వివేకమునొందునట్లు ఆలకించుడి
Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding.
నేను మీకు సదుపదేశము చేసెదను నా బోధను త్రోసివేయకుడి.
For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law.
నా తండ్రికి నేను కుమారుడుగా నుంటిని నా తల్లి దృష్టికి నేను సుకుమారుడనైన యేక కుమారుడనైయుంటిని.
For I was my father’s son, tender and only [beloved] in the sight of my mother.
ఆయన నాకు బోధించుచు నాతో ఇట్లనెను నీ హృదయము పట్టుదలతో నా మాటలను పట్టు కొననిమ్ము నా ఆజ్ఞలను గైకొనినయెడల నీవు బ్రతుకుదువు.
He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.
జ్ఞానము సంపాదించుకొనుము బుద్ధి సంపాదించుకొనుము నా నోటిమాటలను మరువకుము. వాటినుండి తొలగిపోకుము.
Get wisdom, get understanding: forget [it] not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.
జ్ఞానమును విడువక యుండినయెడల అది నిన్ను కాపాడును దాని ప్రేమించినయెడల అది నిన్ను రక్షించును.
Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee.
జ్ఞానము సంపాదించుకొనుటయే జ్ఞానమునకు ముఖ్యాంశము. నీ సంపాదన అంతయు ఇచ్చి బుద్ధి సంపాదించు కొనుము.
Wisdom [is] the principal thing; [therefore] get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
దాని గొప్ప చేసినయెడల అది నిన్ను హెచ్చించును. దాని కౌగిలించినయెడల అది నీకు ఘనతను తెచ్చును.
Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.
అది నీ తలకు అందమైన మాలిక కట్టును ప్రకాశమానమైన కిరీటమును నీకు దయచేయును.
She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.
నా కుమారుడా, నీవు ఆలకించి నా మాటల నంగీక రించినయెడల నీవు దీర్ఘాయుష్మంతుడవగుదువు.
Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many.
జ్ఞానమార్గమును నేను నీకు బోధించియున్నాను యథార్థమార్గములో నిన్ను నడిపించియున్నాను.
I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths.
నీవు నడచునప్పుడు నీ అడుగు ఇరుకున పడదు. నీవు పరుగెత్తునప్పుడు నీ పాదము తొట్రిల్లదు.
When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble.
ఉపదేశమును విడిచిపెట్టక దాని గట్టిగా పట్టుకొనుము అది నీకు జీవము గనుక దాని పొందియుండుము
Take fast hold of instruction; let [her] not go: keep her; for she [is] thy life.
భక్తిహీనుల త్రోవను చేరకుము దుష్టుల మార్గమున నడువకుము.
Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil [men].
దానియందు ప్రవేశింపక తప్పించుకొని తిరుగుము. దానినుండి తొలగి సాగిపొమ్ము.
Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.
అట్టివారు కీడుచేయనిది నిద్రింపరు ఎదుటివారిని పడద్రోయనిది వారికి నిద్రరాదు.
For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause [some] to fall.
కీడుచేత దొరికినదానిని వారు భుజింతురు బలాత్కారముచేత దొరికిన ద్రాక్షారసమును త్రాగు దురు
For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence.
పట్టపగలగువరకు వేకువ వెలుగు తేజరిల్లునట్లు నీతిమంతుల మార్గము అంతకంతకు తేజరిల్లును,
But the path of the just [is] as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.
భక్తిహీనుల మార్గము గాఢాంధకారమయము తాము దేనిమీద పడునది వారికి తెలియదు.
The way of the wicked [is] as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.
నా కుమారుడా, నా మాటలను ఆలకింపుము నా వాక్యములకు నీ చెవి యొగ్గుము.
My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
నీ కన్నుల యెదుటనుండి వాటిని తొలగిపోనియ్య కుము నీ హృదయమందు వాటిని భద్రముచేసికొనుము.
Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
దొరికినవారికి అవి జీవమును వారి సర్వశరీరమునకు ఆరోగ్యమును ఇచ్చును.
For they [are] life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
నీ హృదయములోనుండి జీవధారలు బయలుదేరును కాబట్టి అన్నిటికంటె ముఖ్యముగా నీ హృదయమును భద్రముగా కాపాడుకొనుము
Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it [are] the issues of life.
మూర్ఖపు మాటలు నోటికి రానియ్యకుము పెదవులనుండి కుటిలమైన మాటలు రానియ్యకుము.
Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.
నీ కన్నులు ఇటు అటు చూడక సరిగాను నీ కనురెప్పలు నీ ముందర సూటిగాను చూడవలెను.
Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.
నీవు నడచు మార్గమును సరాళము చేయుము అప్పుడు నీ మార్గములన్నియు స్థిరములగును.
Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.
నీవు కుడితట్టుకైనను ఎడమతట్టుకైనను తిరుగకుము నీ పాదమును కీడునకు దూరముగా తొలగించు కొనుము.
Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.
