1. ಒಂದು ಮಗು ನಮಗಾಗಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದೆಯಷ್ಟೆ, ಆ ಮಗನು ನಮಗೆ ಕೊಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಆಡಳಿತವು ಆತನ ಬಾಹುವಿನ ಮೇಲಿರುವದು; ಅದ್ಭುತ ಸ್ವರೂಪನು, ಆಲೋಚನಾ ಕರ್ತನು, ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಿಯಾದ ದೇವರು, ನಿತ್ಯನಾದ ತಂದೆ, ಸಮಾಧಾನದ ಪ್ರಭು ಎಂದು ಆತನ ಹೆಸರು ಕರೆಯಲ್ಪಡುವದು.

   For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

2. ಆದರೆ ದೂತನು ಅವರಿಗೆ--ಹೆದರಬೇಡಿರಿ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಇಗೋ, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಮಹಾ ಸಂತೋಷವನ್ನುಂಟು ಮಾಡುವ ಒಳ್ಳೇಸಮಾಚಾರ ವನ್ನು ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯಪಡಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಈ ದಿನ ದಾವೀದನ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಒಬ್ಬ ರಕ್ಷಕನು ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಆತನು ಕರ್ತನಾಗಿರುವ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನೇ.

   And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

3. ಆಕೆಯು ಒಬ್ಬ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಹೆರುವಳು; ನೀನು ಆತನಿಗೆ ಯೇಸು ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯಬೇಕು; ಯಾಕೆಂದರೆ ಆತನು ತನ್ನ ಜನರನ್ನು ಅವರ ಪಾಪಗಳಿಂದ ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವನು ಅಂದನು.

   And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

4. ಆ ಮಾತೇನಂದರೆ -- ಇಗೋ, ಒಬ್ಬ ಕನ್ನಿಕೆಯು ಗರ್ಭಿಣಿಯಾಗಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಹೆರುವಳು; ಅವರು ಆತನ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಇಮ್ಮಾನುವೇಲ್‌ ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯುವರು ಎಂಬದೇ. ದೇವರು ನಮ್ಮ ಕೂಡ ಇದ್ದಾನೆ ಎಂಬದು ಇದರ ಅರ್ಥ.

   Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

5. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಆ ವಾಕ್ಯವಾಗಿರುವಾತನು ಶರೀರಧಾರಿ ಯಾಗಿ ಕೃಪೆಯಿಂದಲೂ ಸತ್ಯದಿಂದಲೂ ತುಂಬಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಮಾಡಿದನು. (ತಂದೆಯಿಂದ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ ಒಬ್ಬನೇ ಮಗನ ಮಹಿಮೆಯಂತೆ ನಾವು ಆತನ ಮಹಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದೆವು).

   And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

6. ಮಹೋನ್ನತ ದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಮಹಿಮೆ, ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಸಮಾಧಾನ, ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಕಡೆಗೆ ದಯೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

   Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

7. ಆದಕಾರಣ ಕರ್ತನು ತಾನೇ ಒಂದು ಗುರುತನ್ನು ನಿನಗೆ ಕೊಡು ವನು; ಇಗೋ, ಒಬ್ಬ ಕನ್ನಿಕೆಯು ಗರ್ಭಿಣಿಯಾಗಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಹಡೆಯುವಳು. ಆತನನ್ನು ಇಮ್ಮಾನು ವೇಲ್‌ ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯುವರು.

   Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

8. ಆದರೆ ಎಫ್ರಾತದ ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮೇ, ನೀನು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಸಾವಿರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಣ್ಣದಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ದೊರೆತನ ಮಾಡತಕ್ಕವನು ನಿನ್ನೊಳ ಗಿಂದ ನನಗಾಗಿ ಹೊರಡುವನು; ಆತನ ಹೊರಡೋಣ ಗಳು ಪೂರ್ವದಿಂದಲೂ ಅನಾದಿ ದಿವಸಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ಅವೆ.

   But thou, Beth-lehem Ephratah, [though] thou be little among the thousands of Judah, [yet] out of thee shall he come forth unto me [that is] to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth [have been] from of old, from everlasting.

9. ಆದರೆ ಕಾಲವು ಪರಿಪೂರ್ಣವಾದಾಗ ದೇವರು ತನ್ನ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯಿಂದ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದವನನ್ನಾಗಿಯೂ ನ್ಯಾಯ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳಗಾದವನನ್ನಾಗಿಯೂ ಮಾಡಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದಲ್ಲದೆ ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣಾಧೀನರನ್ನು ವಿಮೋಚಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೂ ನಾವು ದತ್ತುಪುತ್ರರ ಸ್ವೀಕಾರವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದುವಂತೆಯೂ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟನು.

   But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

10. ಅವರು ಆ ನಕ್ಷತ್ರವನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಅತ್ಯಧಿಕವಾದ ಆನಂದದಿಂದ ಸಂತೋಷಪಟ್ಟರು. ಅವರು ಮನೆಯೊಳಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಆ ಶಿಶುವನ್ನು ಆತನ ತಾಯಿಯಾದ ಮರಿಯಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಂಡುಕೊಂಡು ಸಾಷ್ಟಾಂಗವೆರಗಿ ಆತನನ್ನು ಆರಾಧಿಸಿದರು; ತರುವಾಯ ತಮ್ಮ ಬೊಕ್ಕಸಗಳನ್ನು ತೆರೆದು ಚಿನ್ನ ಧೂಪ ರಕ್ತಬೋಳಗಳನ್ನು ಆತನಿಗೆ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯಾಗಿ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು.

    When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.

11. ದೇವರು ಲೋಕವನ್ನು ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಪ್ರೀತಿಮಾಡಿ ತನ್ನ ಒಬ್ಬನೇ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟನು; ಆತನನ್ನು ನಂಬುವ ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ನಾಶವಾಗದೆ ನಿತ್ಯಜೀವ ವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದವನಾಗಿರುವನು.

    For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

12. ಆ ದೂತನು ಆಕೆಗೆ-- ಮರಿಯಳೇ, ಹೆದರಬೇಡ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನೀನು ದೇವರ ದಯೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದೀ; ಇಗೋ, ನೀನು ಗರ್ಭಿಣಿಯಾಗಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಹೆರುವಿ; ಆತನಿಗೆ ಯೇಸು ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಡಬೇಕು. ಆತನು ದೊಡ್ಡವನಾಗಿದ್ದು ಮಹೋನ್ನತನ ಕುಮಾರನೆಂದು ಕರೆಯಲ್ಪಡುವನು; ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ಆತನ ತಂದೆ ಯಾದ ದಾವೀದನ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನವನ್ನು ಆತನಿಗೆ ಕೊಡು ವನು. ಆತನು ಯಾಕೋಬನ ಮನೆತನವನ್ನು ಸದಾ ಕಾಲವೂ ಆಳುವನು; ಆತನ ರಾಜ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಅಂತ್ಯವೇ ಇಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.

    And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
