1. ಆದದರಿಂದ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆತಾಯಿಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ತನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು; ಅವರು ಒಂದೇ ಶರೀರ ವಾಗಿರುವರು.ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಅವನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯು ಇಬ್ಬರು ಬೆತ್ತಲೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ನಾಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ.

   Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

2. ಒಬ್ಬನಿಗಿಂತ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಲೇಸು; ತಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಯಾಸಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಪ್ರತಿಫಲವಿದೆ. ಒಬ್ಬನು ಬಿದ್ದರೆ ಇನ್ನೊಬ್ಬನು ತನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡಿಗನನ್ನು ಎತ್ತುವನು; ಅವನು ಒಬ್ಬೊಂಟಿಗನಾಗಿ ಬಿದ್ದರೆ ಅಯ್ಯೋ! ಅವನಿಗೆ ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಇನ್ನೊಬ್ಬ ನಿಲ್ಲ. ತಿರುಗಿ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಲಗಿಕೊಂಡರೆ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಬೆಚ್ಚಗಾಗುತ್ತದೆ; ಒಬ್ಬನು ಹೇಗೆ ಬೆಚ್ಚಗಾಗಿ ರುತ್ತಾನೆ? ಅವನನ್ನು ಒಬ್ಬನು ಜಯಿಸಿದರೆ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸುವರು; ಮೂರು ಹುರಿಯ ಹಗ್ಗವು ಬೇಗನೆ ಕಿತ್ತುಹೋಗುವದಿಲ್ಲ.

   Two [are] better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him [that is] alone when he falleth; for [he hath] not another to help him up. Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm [alone]? And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

3. ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಬಹು ತಾಳ್ಮೆಯುಳ್ಳದ್ದು, ಕರುಣೆಯುಳ್ಳದ್ದು; ಪ್ರೀತಿಯು ಹೊಟ್ಟೇಕಿಚ್ಚು ಪಡುವದಿಲ್ಲ, ಹೊಗಳಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳುವದಿಲ್ಲ, ಉಬ್ಬಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವದಿಲ್ಲ, ಮರ್ಯಾದೆ ಗೆಟ್ಟು ನಡೆಯುವದಿಲ್ಲ, ಸ್ವಾರ್ಥತೆಯನ್ನು ಬಯಸು ವದಿಲ್ಲ, ಬೇಗನೆ ಕೋಪಗೊಳ್ಳುವದಿಲ್ಲ, ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ಯೋಚಿಸುವದಿಲ್ಲ. ಅನ್ಯಾಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂತೋಷಪಡದೆ ಸತ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಸಂತೋಷಪಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಸಹಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತದೆ, ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ನಂಬುತ್ತದೆ, ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತದೆ, ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ತಾಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತದೆ.

   Charity suffereth long, [and] is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

4. ಪುರಷರೇ, ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯರನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಿರಿ, ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನು ಸಹ ಸಭೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಿ ಅದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ತನ್ನನ್ನು ತಾನೇ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟನು.

   Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

5. ಇದೆಲ್ಲಾದರ ಮೇಲೆ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ; ಅದು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಮಾಡುವ ಬಂಧವಾಗಿದೆ.

   And above all these things [put on] charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

6. ಪತ್ನಿ ಯನ್ನು ದೊರಕಿಸಿಕೊಂಡವನು ಒಳ್ಳೇದನ್ನು ಸಂಪಾದಿಸಿ ದವನಾಗಿ ಕರ್ತನ ದಯೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದುತ್ತಾನೆ.

   [Whoso] findeth a wife findeth a good [thing], and obtaineth favour of the LORD.

7. ಆದದರಿಂದ ದೇವರು ಕೂಡಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಅಗಲಿಸದಿರಲಿ ಅಂದನು.

   What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

8. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ರೂತಳು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಬೇಕೆಂದು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಒತ್ತಾಯಮಾಡಬೇಡ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನೀನು ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋಗುವಿಯೋ ನಾನು ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಬರುವೆನು; ನೀನು ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಇಳುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಿಯೋ ನಾನು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಇಳು ಕೊಳ್ಳುವೆನು; ನಿನ್ನ ಜನರೇ ನನ್ನ ಜನರು; ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರೇ ನನ್ನ ದೇವರು.

   And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, [or] to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people [shall be] my people, and thy God my God:

9. ಅನೇಕ ಜಲಗಳು ಪ್ರೀತಿಯನ್ನು ಆರಿ ಸಲಾರವು; ಪ್ರವಾಹಗಳು ಅದನ್ನು ಮುಣುಗಿಸ ಲಾರವು; ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಯ ಆಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಪ್ರೀತಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಕೊಟ್ಟರೆ ಅದು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವದು.

   Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it: if [a] man would give all the substance of his house for love, it would utterly be contemned.

10. ಎಲ್ಲವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಮಿಗಿಲಾಗಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ನಿಮ್ಮೊಳಗೆ ಯಥಾರ್ಥವಾದ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಿರಲಿ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯು ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಪಾಪಗಳನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚುತ್ತದೆ.

    And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.

11. ಕರ್ತನು ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟದಿದ್ದರೆ, ಅದನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟುವವರು ವ್ಯರ್ಥವಾಗಿ ಕಷ್ಟಪಡುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಕರ್ತನು ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡದೆ ಇದ್ದರೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡುವವನು ವ್ಯರ್ಥವಾಗಿ ಎಚ್ಚರ ವಾಗಿರುತ್ತಾನೆ.

    Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh [but] in vain.

12. ಗುಣವತಿಯಾದ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯನ್ನು ಯಾವನು ಕಂಡು ಕೊಂಡಾನು? ಅವಳ ಕ್ರಯ ಹವಳಕ್ಕಿಂತಲೂ ಅಮೂ ಲ್ಯವೇ.

    Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price [is] far above rubies.

13. ಕರ್ತನಾದ ದೇವರು--ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಒಂಟಿಯಾ ಗಿರುವದು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದಲ್ಲ; ಅವನಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಕ ಸಹಕಾರಿಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವೆನು ಅಂದನು.

    And the LORD God said, [It is] not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

14. ನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯು ನಿನ್ನ ಮನೆಯ ಪಕ್ಕದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಫಲಭರಿತ ವಾದ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷೇಗಿಡದ ಹಾಗೆಯೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಮೇಜಿನ ಸುತ್ತಲಿರುವ ನಿನ್ನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಎಣ್ಣೇಮರಗಳ ಸಸಿಗಳ ಹಾಗೆಯೂ ಇರುವರು.

    Thy wife [shall be] as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table.

15. ಮನೆಯೂ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವೂ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ಸ್ವಾಸ್ಥ್ಯವು; ವಿವೇಕಿಯಾದ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯು ಕರ್ತ ನಿಂದಲೇ.

    House and riches [are] the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife [is] from the LORD.

16. ವಿವಾಹವು ಎಲ್ಲಾದರಲ್ಲಿ ಗೌರವವಾದದ್ದೂ ಹಾಸಿಗೆಯು ನಿಷ್ಕಳಂಕವಾದದ್ದೂ ಆಗಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಜಾರರಿಗೂ ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರಿಗಳಿಗೂ ದೇವರು ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರಿಸುವನು.

    Marriage [is] honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

17. ಹೀಗೆ ನಂಬಿಕೆ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆ ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಈ ಮೂರೇ ನಿಲ್ಲುತ್ತವೆ; ಆದರೆ ಇವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ದೊಡ್ಡದು ಪ್ರೀತಿಯೇ.

    And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these [is] charity.

18. ಆದದರಿಂದ ಅವರು ಇನ್ನು ಇಬ್ಬರಲ್ಲ, ಒಂದೇ ಶರೀರವಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆದಕಾರಣ ದೇವರು ಕೂಡಿ ಸಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಅಗಲಿಸಬಾರದು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ದನು.

    Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

19. ನಿನ್ನ ನಿರ್ಥಕವಾದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸೂರ್ಯನ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಆತನು ನಿನಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಜೀವನದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನೀನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುವ ನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಯೊಡನೆ ಆನಂದದಿಂದ ವಾಸಿಸು; ಸೂರ್ಯನ ಕೆಳಗೆ ನೀನು ಪಡುವ ಕಷ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಇದೇ ನಿನ್ನ ಪಾಲಾಗಿದೆ.

    Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all the days of thy vanity: for that [is] thy portion in [this] life, and in thy labour which thou takest under the sun.
