ಮತ್ತು ಆತನು ಜನಸಮೂಹಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದವನಾಗಿ ಪರ್ವತವನ್ನೇರಿದನು; ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಆತನು ಕೂತುಕೊಂಡಾಗ ಆತನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ಆತನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು.
And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:
ಆತನು ಬಾಯಿ ತೆರೆದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಬೋಧಿಸಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ --
And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
ಆತ್ಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಡವರಾಗಿರುವವರು ಧನ್ಯರು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಪರಲೋಕರಾಜ್ಯವು ಅವರದು.
Blessed [are] the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
ದುಃಖಪಡುವವರು ಧನ್ಯರು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅವರು ಆದರಣೆ ಹೊಂದುವರು.
Blessed [are] they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
ಸಾತ್ವಿಕರು ಧನ್ಯರು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅವರು ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ಬಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಹೊಂದುವರು.
Blessed [are] the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
ನೀತಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಹಸಿದು ಬಾಯಾರಿದವರು ಧನ್ಯರು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅವರು ತೃಪ್ತಿ ಹೊಂದುವರು.
Blessed [are] they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
ಕರುಣೆಯುಳ್ಳವರು ಧನ್ಯರು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅವರು ಕರುಣೆ ಹೊಂದುವರು.
Blessed [are] the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
ಶುದ್ಧ ಹೃದಯವುಳ್ಳವರು ಧನ್ಯರು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅವರು ದೇವರನ್ನು ನೋಡುವರು.
Blessed [are] the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
ಸಮಾಧಾನ ಮಾಡುವವರು ಧನ್ಯರು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅವರು ದೇವರ ಮಕ್ಕಳೆಂದು ಕರೆಯಲ್ಪಡುವರು.
Blessed [are] the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
ನೀತಿಯ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿ ಹಿಂಸಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವವರು ಧನ್ಯರು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಪರಲೋಕರಾಜ್ಯವು ಅವರದು.
Blessed [are] they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
ನನ್ನ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿ ಜನರು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ದೂಷಿಸಿ ಹಿಂಸಿಸಿ ನಿಮಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ತರದ ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ಸುಳ್ಳಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದರೆ ನೀವು ಧನ್ಯರು.
Blessed are ye, when [men] shall revile you, and persecute [you], and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
ಸಂತೋಷಿಸಿರಿ, ಅತಿ ಉಲ್ಲಾಸದಿಂದಿರ್ರಿ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಪರಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರತಿಫಲವು ದೊಡ್ಡದಾಗಿದೆ; ನಿಮಗಿಂತ ಮುಂಚೆ ಇದ್ದ ಪ್ರವಾದಿ ಗಳನ್ನು ಅವರು ಹೀಗೆಯೇ ಹಿಂಸಿಸಿದರಲ್ಲಾ.
Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great [is] your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
ನೀವು ಭೂಮಿಗೆ ಉಪ್ಪಾಗಿದ್ದೀರಿ. ಉಪ್ಪು ತನ್ನ ರುಚಿಯನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡರೆ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಇನ್ನಾತ ರಿಂದ ರುಚಿ ಬಂದೀತು? ಅಂದಿನಿಂದ ಅದು ನಿಷ್ಪ್ರಯೋಜನವಾದದ್ದಾಗಿ ಹೊರಗೆ ಬಿಸಾಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟು ಜನರಿಂದ ತುಳಿದಾಡಲ್ಪಡುವದು.
Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
ನೀವು ಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಬೆಳಕಾಗಿದ್ದೀರಿ. ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಮೇಲೆ ಇರುವ ಪಟ್ಟಣವು ಮರೆಯಾಗಿರಲಾರದು.
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ದೀಪವನ್ನು ಹೊತ್ತಿಸಿ ಕೊಳಗದೊಳಗೆ ಇಡದೆ ಅದನ್ನು ದೀಪಸ್ತಂಭದ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆಗ ಅದು ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವವರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೆ ಬೆಳಕು ಕೊಡುವದು.
Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
ಅದರಂತೆಯೇ ಜನರು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಒಳ್ಳೇ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಪರಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಮಹಿಮೆಪಡಿಸುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬೆಳಕು ಜನರ ಮುಂದೆ ಪ್ರಕಾಶಿಸಲಿ.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣವನ್ನಾಗಲೀ ಪ್ರವಾದನೆಗಳ ನ್ನಾಗಲೀ ಹಾಳುಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನಾನು ಬಂದೆ ನೆಂದು ನೆನಸಬೇಡಿರಿ, ಹಾಳುಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲ; ಆದರೆ ನೆರವೇರಿಸುವದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಬಂದೆನು.
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
ಆಕಾಶವೂ ಭೂಮಿಯೂ ಗತಿಸಿ ಹೋಗುವ ತನಕ ಎಲ್ಲವೂ ನೆರವೇರದ ಹೊರತು ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣದಿಂದ ಒಂದು ಸೊನ್ನೆಯಾದರೂ ಒಂದು ಗುಡುಸಾದರೂ ಅಳಿದು ಹೋಗುವದೇ ಇಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
ಆದದರಿಂದ ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ಈ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿಕ್ಕದಾದ ಒಂದನ್ನು ಮಾರಿ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಬೋಧಿಸಿದರೆ ಅವನು ಪರಲೋಕರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲ್ಪನೆಂದು ಕರೆಯಲ್ಪಡುವನು; ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೈಕೊಂಡು ಬೋಧಿಸಿದರೆ ಅವನೇ ಪರಲೋಕ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ದೊಡ್ಡವನೆಂದು ಕರೆಯಲ್ಪಡು ವನು.
Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach [them], the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುವದೇನಂದರೆ-- ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿಗಳ ಮತ್ತು ಫರಿಸಾಯರ ನೀತಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ನೀತಿಯು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನದಾಗಿರದ ಹೊರತು ನೀವು ಪರಲೋಕ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸುವದಕ್ಕಾಗುವದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ.
For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed [the righteousness] of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
ನೀನು ನರಹತ್ಯ ಮಾಡಬಾರದು; ಯಾವನಾ ದರೂ ನರಹತ್ಯಮಾಡಿದರೆ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರ್ಪಿನ ಅಪಾ ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳಗಾಗುವನು ಎಂದು ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರು ಹೇಳಿರು ವದನ್ನು ನೀವು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದೀರಿ.
Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುವದೇನಂದರೆ-- ನಿಷ್ಕಾರಣವಾಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನ ಮೇಲೆ ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ಸಿಟ್ಟುಗೊಂಡರೆ ಅವನು ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರ್ಪಿನ ಅಪಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳಗಾಗುವನು; ಮತ್ತು ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ತನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನಿಗೆ-- ವ್ಯರ್ಥವಾದವನೇ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರೆ ಅವನು ನ್ಯಾಯಸಭೆಯ ಅಪಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳಗಾಗುವನು
But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
ಆದದರಿಂದ ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಯಜ್ಞವೇದಿಯ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಂದಾಗ ನಿನಗೆ ವಿರೋಧ ವಾದದ್ದು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನಿಗೆ ಇದೆಯೆಂದು ನೆನಪಿಗೆ ಬಂದರೆ
Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
ನಿನ್ನ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ನೀನು ಅಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಯಜ್ಞವೇದಿಯ ಮುಂದೆ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೊರಟು ಹೋಗಿ ಮೊದಲು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಒಂದಾಗು; ತರುವಾಯ ಬಂದು ನಿನ್ನ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸು.
Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
ನಿನ್ನ ವಿರೋಧಿಯ ಸಂಗಡ ನೀನು ದಾರಿಯ ಲ್ಲಿರುವಾಗಲೇ ತ್ವರೆಯಾಗಿ ಅವನ ಕೂಡ ಒಂದಾಗು; ಇಲ್ಲವಾದರೆ ಯಾವ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿಯಾದರೂ ಆ ವಿರೋಧಿಯು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿಪತಿಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಾನು ಮತ್ತು ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿಪತಿಯು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಾನು; ಆಗ ನೀನು ಸೆರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಲ್ಪಡುವಿ.
Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.
ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುವದೇನಂದರೆ--ನೀನು ಕೊನೆಯ ಕಾಸನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುವ ತನಕ ಯಾವ ವಿಧದಿಂದಲೂ ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಹೊರಗೆ ಬರುವದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ.
Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.
ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರ ಮಾಡಬಾರದು ಎಂದು ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರು ಹೇಳಿರುವದನ್ನು ನೀವು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದೀರಿ;
Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುವದೇನಂದರೆ--ಒಬ್ಬ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯನ್ನು ಮೋಹಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನೋಡುವ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನು ಆಗಲೇ ತನ್ನ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಕೆಯ ಕೂಡ ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
ಆದದರಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನ ಬಲಗಣ್ಣು ನಿನಗೆ ಅಭ್ಯಂತರವಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಕಿತ್ತು ನಿನ್ನಿಂದ ಬಿಸಾಡಿಬಿಡು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಇಡೀ ಶರೀರವು ನರಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಲ್ಪಡುವದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ನಿನ್ನ ಅಂಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ನಾಶವಾಗುವದು ನಿನಗೆ ಲಾಭಕರವಾಗಿದೆ.
And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast [it] from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not [that] thy whole body should be cast into hell.
ನಿನ್ನ ಬಲಗೈ ನಿನಗೆ ಅಭ್ಯಂತರವಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಕಡಿದು ನಿನ್ನಿಂದ ಬಿಸಾಡಿಬಿಡು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಇಡೀ ಶರೀರವು ನರಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಲ್ಪಡುವದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ನಿನ್ನ ಅಂಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ನಾಶವಾಗುವದು ನಿನಗೆ ಲಾಭಕರವಾಗಿದೆ.
And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast [it] from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not [that] thy whole body should be cast into hell.
ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ತನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಡಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದರೆ ಅವನು ಆಕೆಗೆ ತ್ಯಾಗಪತ್ರ ಕೊಡಲಿ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿಯದೆ;
It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:
ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುವದೇನಂದರೆ--ಹಾದರದ ಕಾರಣ ದಿಂದಲ್ಲದೆ ತನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಡುವವನು ಆಕೆಯು ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರ ಮಾಡುವಂತೆ ಕಾರಣನಾಗುವನು; ಮತ್ತು ಬಿಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವಳನ್ನು ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ಮದುವೆ ಯಾದರೆ ಅವನು ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರ ಮಾಡುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.
ನೀನು ಸುಳ್ಳಾಣೆ ಇಡಬೇಡ; ಆದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಗಳನ್ನು ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರು ಹೇಳಿರುವದನ್ನು ನೀವು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದೀರಿ.
Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:
ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುವದೇನಂದರೆ--ಎಷ್ಟು ಮಾತ್ರಕ್ಕೂ ಅಣೆಯನ್ನು ಇಡಬೇಡ. ಪರಲೋಕದ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೇಡ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅದು ದೇವರ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನವು.
But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God’s throne:
ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಬೇಡ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅದು ಆತನ ಪಾದಪೀಠವು; ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಬೇಡ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅದು ಆ ಮಹಾ ಅರಸನ ಪಟ್ಟಣವಾಗಿದೆ.
Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.
ನಿನ್ನ ತಲೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೂಡ ಆಣೆ ಇಡಬೇಡ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನೀನು ಒಂದು ಕೂದಲನ್ನಾದರೂ ಬಿಳಿ ಅಥವಾ ಕಪ್ಪು ಮಾಡಲಾರಿ.
Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.
ಆದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಮಾತು ಹೌದಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಹೌದು, ಅಲ್ಲವಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಅಲ್ಲ ಎಂದಿರಲಿ; ಇವುಗಳಿಗಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾದದ್ದು ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದ ರಿಂದ ಬರುವಂಥದ್ದು.
But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ--ಕಣ್ಣಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಯಾಗಿ ಕಣ್ಣನ್ನೂ ಹಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಯಾಗಿ ಹಲ್ಲನ್ನೂ ತೆಗಿಸು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿರುವದನ್ನು ನೀವು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದೀರಿ.
Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:
ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುವದೇನಂದರೆ--ನೀವು ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸಬೇಡಿರಿ; ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಬಲ ಗೆನ್ನೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೊಡೆದರೆ ಮತ್ತೊಂದನ್ನು ಸಹ ಅವನಿಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಸು.
But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯವಾಡಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಮೇಲಂಗಿಯನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಳ್ಳ ಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದರೆ ಒಳಂಗಿಯನ್ನೂ ಕೊಟ್ಟುಬಿಡು.
And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have [thy] cloke also.
ಮತ್ತು ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ಒಂದು ಮೈಲು ಹೋಗುವಂತೆ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಲವಂತ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಅವನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಎರಡು ಮೈಲು ಹೋಗು.
And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.
ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವವನಿಗೆ ಕೊಡು; ಮತ್ತು ನಿನ್ನಿಂದ ಕಡಾ ತಕ್ಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದಿರುವವನಿಂದ ನೀನು ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡ.
Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.
ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ನೆರೆಯವನನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಿ ನಿನ್ನ ವೈರಿಯನ್ನು ಹಗೆಮಾಡಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿರು ವದನ್ನು ನೀವು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದೀರಿ.
Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುವದೇನಂದರೆ--ನಿಮ್ಮ ವೈರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಿರಿ, ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಶಪಿಸುವವರನ್ನು ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸಿರಿ; ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಹಗೆಮಾಡುವವರಿಗೆ ಒಳ್ಳೇದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿರಿ; ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನಿಂದಿಸುವವರಿಗಾಗಿಯೂ ಹಿಂಸಿಸುವವರಿಗಾಗಿಯೂ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಿರಿ.
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
ಇದರಿಂದ ನೀವು ಪರಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಗೆ ಮಕ್ಕಳಾ ಗುವಿರಿ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಆತನು ಕೆಟ್ಟವರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯವರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ತನ್ನ ಸೂರ್ಯನು ಉದಯಿಸುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಮತ್ತು ನೀತಿವಂತರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಅನೀತಿವಂತರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಮಳೆ ಸುರಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.
That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಮಾಡುವವರನ್ನೇ ನೀವು ಪ್ರೀತಿಮಾಡಿದರೆ ನಿಮಗೆ ಯಾವ ಪ್ರತಿಫಲ ಸಿಕ್ಕೀತು? ಸುಂಕದವರೂ ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರಲ್ಲವೇ?
For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಹೋದರರನ್ನು ಮಾತ್ರ ವಂದಿಸಿದರೆ ಬೇರೆಯವರಿಗಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚೇನು ಮಾಡಿ ದಂತಾಯಿತು? ಸುಂಕದವರು ಸಹ ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರಲ್ಲವೇ?ಆದದರಿಂದ ಪರಲೋಕ ದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಯು ಪರಿಪೂರ್ಣ ನಾಗಿರುವಂತೆಯೇ ನೀವೂ ಪರಿಪೂರ್ಣರಾಗಿರ್ರಿ.
And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more [than others]? do not even the publicans so?
ಆದದರಿಂದ ಪರಲೋಕ ದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಯು ಪರಿಪೂರ್ಣ ನಾಗಿರುವಂತೆಯೇ ನೀವೂ ಪರಿಪೂರ್ಣರಾಗಿರ್ರಿ.
Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
