Proverbs 22 in Tamil

1. 1

   திரளான ஐசுவரியத்தைப்பார்க்கிலும் நற்கீர்த்தியே தெரிந்துகொள்ளப்படத்தக்கது; பொன் வெள்ளியைப்பார்க்கிலும் தயையே நலம்.

   A [good] name [is] rather to be chosen than great riches, [and] loving favour rather than silver and gold.

2. 2

   ஐசுவரியவானும் தரித்திரனும் ஒருவரையொருவர் சந்திக்கிறார்கள்; அவர்கள் அனைவரையும் உண்டாக்கினவர் கர்த்தர்.

   The rich and poor meet together: the LORD [is] the maker of them all.

3. 3

   விவேகி ஆபத்தைக் கண்டு மறைந்துகொள்ளுகிறான்; பேதைகள் நெடுகப்போய்த் தண்டிக்கப்படுகிறார்கள்.

   A prudent [man] foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished.

4. 4

   தாழ்மைக்கும் கர்த்தருக்குப் பயப்படுதலுக்கும் வரும் பலன் ஐசுவரியமும் மகிமையும் ஜீவனுமாம்.

   By humility [and] the fear of the LORD [are] riches, and honour, and life.

5. 5

   மாறுபாடுள்ளவனுடைய வழியிலே முள்ளுகளும் கண்ணிகளுமுண்டு; தன் ஆத்துமாவைக் காக்கிறவன் அவைகளுக்குத் தூரமாய் விலகிப்போவான்.

   Thorns [and] snares [are] in the way of the froward: he that doth keep his soul shall be far from them.

6. 6

   பிள்ளையானவன் நடக்கவேண்டிய வழியிலே அவனை நடத்து; அவன் முதிர்வயதிலும் அதை விடாதிருப்பான்.

   Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

7. 7

   ஐசுவரியவான் தரித்திரனை ஆளுகிறான்; கடன்வாங்கினவன் கடன்கொடுத்தவனுக்கு அடிமை.

   The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower [is] servant to the lender.

8. 8

   அநியாயத்தை விதைக்கிறவன் வருத்தத்தை அறுப்பான்; அவன் உக்கிரத்தின் மிலாறு ஒழியும்.

   He that soweth iniquity shall reap vanity: and the rod of his anger shall fail.

9. 9

   கருணைக்கண்ணன் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்படுவான்; அவன் தன் ஆகாரத்தில் தரித்திரனுக்குக் கொடுக்கிறான்.

   He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor.

10. 10

    பரியாசக்காரனைத் துரத்திவிடு; அப்பொழுது வாது நீங்கும், விரோதமும் அவமானமும் ஒழியும்.

    Cast out the scorner, and contention shall go out; yea, strife and reproach shall cease.

11. 11

    சுத்த இருதயத்தை விரும்புகிறவனுடைய உதடுகள் இனிமையானவைகள்; ராஜா அவனுக்குச் சிநேகிதனாவான்.

    He that loveth pureness of heart, [for] the grace of his lips the king [shall be] his friend.

12. 12

    கர்த்தருடைய கண்கள் ஞானத்தைக் காக்கும்; துரோகிகளின் வார்த்தைகளையோ அவர் தாறுமாறாக்குகிறார்.

    The eyes of the LORD preserve knowledge, and he overthroweth the words of the transgressor.

13. 13

    வெளியிலே சிங்கம், வீதியிலேகொலையுண்பேன் என்று சோம்பேறி சொல்லுவான்.

    The slothful [man] saith, [There is] a lion without, I shall be slain in the streets.

14. 14

    பரஸ்திர்⟨P⟩களின் வாய் ஆழமான படுகுழி; கர்த்தருடைய கோபத்திற்கு ஏதுவானவன் அதிலே விழுவான்.

    The mouth of strange women [is] a deep pit: he that is abhorred of the LORD shall fall therein.

15. 15

    பிள்ளையின் நெஞ்சில் மதியீனம் ஒட்டியிருக்கும்; அதைத் தண்டனையின் பிரம்பு அவனைவிட்டு அகற்றும்.

    Foolishness [is] bound in the heart of a child; [but] the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.

16. 16

    தனக்கு அதிகம் உண்டாகத் தரித்திரனை ஒடுக்குகிறவன் தனக்குத் குறைச்சலுண்டாகவே ஐசுவரியவானுக்குக்கொடுப்பான்.

    He that oppresseth the poor to increase his [riches, and] he that giveth to the rich, [shall] surely [come] to want.

17. 17

    உன் செவியைச் சாய்த்து, ஞானிகளுடைய வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்டு, என் போதகத்தை உன் இருதயத்தில் வை.

    Bow down thine ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply thine heart unto my knowledge.

18. 18

    அவைகளை உன் உள்ளத்தில் காத்து, அவைகளை உன் உதடுகளில் நிலைத்திருக்கப்பண்ணும்போது, அது இன்பமாயிருக்கும்.

    For [it is] a pleasant thing if thou keep them within thee; they shall withal be fitted in thy lips.

19. 19

    உன் நம்பிக்கை கர்த்தர்மேல் இருக்கும்படி, இன்றையதினம் அவைகளை உனக்குத் தெரியப்படுத்துகிறேன்.

    That thy trust may be in the LORD, I have made known to thee this day, even to thee.

20. 20

    சத்திய வார்த்தைகளின் யதார்த்தத்தை நான் உனக்குத் தெரிவிக்கும்படிக்கும், நீ உன்னை அனுப்பினவர்களுக்குச் சத்திய வார்த்தைகளை மறுமொழியாகச் சொல்லும்படிக்கும்,

    Have not I written to thee excellent things in counsels and knowledge,

21. 21

    ஆலோசனையையும் ஞானத்தையும் பற்றி நான் உனக்கு முக்கியமானவைகளை எழுதவில்லையா?

    That I might make thee know the certainty of the words of truth; that thou mightest answer the words of truth to them that send unto thee?

22. 22

    ஏழையாயிருக்கிறான் என்று ஏழையைக் கொள்ளையிடாதே; சிறுமையானவனை நியாயஸ்தலத்தில் உபத்திரவப்படுத்தாதே.

    Rob not the poor, because he [is] poor: neither oppress the afflicted in the gate:

23. 23

    கர்த்தர் அவர்களுக்காக வழக்காடி, அவர்களைக் கொள்ளையிடுகிறவர்களுடைய பிராணனைக் கொள்ளையிடுவார்.

    For the LORD will plead their cause, and spoil the soul of those that spoiled them.

24. 24

    கோபக்காரனுக்குத் தோழனாகாதே; உக்கிரமுள்ள மனுஷனோடே நடவாதே.

    Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go:

25. 25

    அப்படிச் செய்தால், நீ அவனுடைய வழிகளைக் கற்றுக்கொண்டு, உன் ஆத்துமாவுக்குக் கண்ணியை வருவிப்பாய்.

    Lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul.

26. 26

    கையடித்து உடன்பட்டு, கடனுக்காகப் பிணைப்படுகிறவர்களில் ஒருவனாகாதே.

    Be not thou [one] of them that strike hands, [or] of them that are sureties for debts.

27. 27

    செலுத்த உனக்கு ஒன்றுமில்லாதிருந்தால், நீ படுத்திருக்கும் படுக்கையையும் அவன் எடுத்துக்கொள்ளவேண்டியதாகுமே.

    If thou hast nothing to pay, why should he take away thy bed from under thee?

28. 28

    உன் பிதாக்கள் நாட்டின பூர்வ எல்லைக்குறியை மாற்றாதே.

    Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set.

29. 29

    தன் வேலையில் ஜாக்கிரதையாயிருக்கிறவனை நீ கண்டால், அவன் நீசருக்குமுன்பாக நில்லாமல், ராஜாக்களுக்கு முன்பாக நிற்பான்.

    Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean [men].
