1. ஆகையால் முதலாம் உடன்படிக்கையின் காலத்திலே நடந்த அக்கிரமங்களை நிவிர்த்திசெய்யும்பொருட்டு அவர் மரணமடைந்து, அழைக்கப்பட்டவர்கள் வாக்குத்தத்தம்பண்ணப்பட்ட நித்திய சுதந்தரத்தை அடைந்துகொள்வதற்காக, புது உடன்படிக்கையின் மத்தியஸ்தராயிருக்கிறார்.

   And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions [that were] under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

   Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

   Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup [is] the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
